Seriously, What. The. Fuck. It's not just that we lost two games. I can deal with that. A west coast trip with the shortened offseason, etc. etc. I can deal with losses. My problem is how we've lost.
The knicks look completely lost on the court. It doesn't even seem like they're trying have the time. There is no plan. Our guys are just out there. And D'Antoni doesn't seem the least bit interested in coaching. If he was wouldn't he have maybe said something to Landry at some point after his collapse last year and then continuing to look lost this year about maybe cutting to the basket or setting a screen when he doesn't know what to do?
Wouldn't someone set a fucking cross screen? Wouldn't the shift in focus to defense mean increased focus on rebounding, encouraging everyone to get after the ball?
Is the point guard the only position that means something to D'Antoni? Can't other players do something to contribute.
Is there a game plan? At all?
I thought we looked amazing in the first half of game one. Third quarter all our bad habits came back. Then we recovered and had a solid fourth.
I was excited for what was to come.
In the second game we looked solid in the first half. Not great, but we played some solid D and we had scrubs on the floor most of the time while maintaining a strong lead with both our stars in shooting slumps. The third quarter was bad, but we were still the better team. They were just fighting harder. The fourth quarter was an utter disgrace. It is absurd that a team like this could play so bad.
I was depressed, but tomorrow was another day. We had showed some promise in the first half. Maybe we took Golden State too lightly. We'd get up for the Lakers.
Wow. Game number three was just offensive. Start to finish. There was almost nothing good about that game except Tyson Chandler and Melo playing better. Amar'e better still be hurt because that's the only way to explain how awful he's been.
We've gotten worse as we've gone along. Where was D'Antoni after the second game? I know it was a back-to-back, but I expected to see some fervor from this team.
I'm one of those people who doesn't think Pringles has gotten a fair shake and deserves a chance to prove himself, but this is disgusting. I could accept losses if we had some fight, I could accept losses if we were trying new things or implementing new schemes and new plays. But we just aren't running plays. Any plays. Not old ones. Not new ones. We're not even trying. And it starts with the coach.
One more game where we're this pathetic and I'm hunting down phil jackson myself and making Dolan hire him.
