What's Wrong with the Knicks?
I don't think the Knicks are ready to play basketball, and their offense has fallen apart. Everyone is hating Toney, but he was not this bad in the past. He has no one to pass to, pressure is up, so he is very tentative. He and Landry look like they've lost all confidence in their ability to play basketball. Chandler also is feeling too much pressure be a shotblocking presence, so he's blocking shots instead of playing his usual D. And of course the other Knicks let their guys run right past them so Chandler has to step up.
The entire bench is either not ready yet or totally washed up.
Amar'e seriously looks worse than ever and this was my biggest fear from the end of last season. If Amar'e hadn't retired this summer the Knicks would still have two big weapons, they'd have more shot opportunities, they wouldn't be falling behind and giving up.
The Knicks offense right now are Melo trying to carry the team, and Balkman at his best. Everyone else stands around and does nothing. Oversimplifying the problem, but that's about it. They might as well get Novak more corner shots and let Jordan show some more, maybe as the first guy off the bench. Send Amar'e over to Germany to get the Kobe/A-Rod treatment. He'll be fine in 2 months.

Jeremy Lin should start the next game
We need a true PG for a change. I’ve loved what I’ve seen from Lin so far.
Stainer of mountaintops.
Chandler, Bibby, Lin, Davis, Novak, Harrellson, Shumpert, and Jordan, players are brand new, Melo, Balkman and Jefferies are relitivly new, Amare and Fields have only been here a year…
Douglas and Walker are the only two guys who have have been on the team for more than a season…
We are working to find a rotation that works, some chemistry…
Lin should not be the starting PG, but Melo should be running the PnR on O

I do agree
Lin shouldn’t be starting. It’s clearly very unrealistic and he hasn’t been on the team long enough to even earn that spot.
However, after last game, I think he should be given a few more minutes off the bench. If Bibby can play for 20 minutes and only get 1 rebound and have a make 1 out of 4 shots with a +/- of -19, I think Lin should be given a chance based on how horrible Bibby has played. I meant, what’s there to lose trying?
i don’t think any of the blame is on the bench, here. i’ve been pleasantly surprised with bibby, who hasn’t been hitting many shots, but has been the only player remotely capable of controlling the pace of the game offensively. balkman has been giving it his all, bill walker looks out of shape as ever but has played solid d, iman looked good, novak’s jimmy looks as sweet as promised…
melo needs to call for the ball in the high post when the offense is at a stand still because he can score in so many ways from there, amar’e needs to set high screens and he needs to get on the ball handler if he doesn’t pass amar’e the ball because he needs to get the ball in motion early and often for us to control the game.
our bench isn’t exactly a “strength”, but the only reason we’re noticing that it isn’t is because melo and amar’e (and to some degree chandler) aren’t doing what it takes to take over the game.
reasons and excuses...
aside, we just don’t look like we’re playing basketball.
chemistry, newness, system, X’s and O’s… all obviously in process. but while other teams in similar situations AT LEAST look energized, mobile, quick and aggressive, our guys look tentative, reluctant, passive and confused… and THIS is what’s killing us and making us doubt our coaching staff and the collection of players we’re working with.
