For or against this trade

It doesn't look like were going to get Chris Paul because he has set his site on playing with either Dwight Howard or Blake Griffin or Tyson Chandler (Really?) This has been brought up many times before but i wanted to get a poll going to see what people think.

Star-divide

If we were to trade either Stat or Melo for Dwight, it makes way more sense basketball wise to give up Stat instead of Melo. The only problem is that trading Amare at this point is like trading Jeter. He is the face of the franchise and i don't know if i would be as happy rooting for a team of players that i don't feel like are "ours." Now if we do this trade, I don't see how Paul doesn't want to come here no matter what. His best friend in Melo and Dwight being here makes this no doubt his #1 option with no close second.

Now I am not even sure if Amare would top Bynum and Gasol in the Magics eyes. I don't want to give up Amare and take a bad contract back. That would prevent us from doing anything in the offseason (Paul). So basically Amare + Carmelo + Good Center + Good role players is better than Dwight + Melo + Shitty team.

But better than both of those is Melo, D12, and CP3....so theoretically if the Magic would accept Amare and maybe another player WITHOUT taking a bad contract back.....would you say yes or no....strictly basketball wise...forget off the court stuff for now.

i think most of us would but....

why would orlando do tha because of stat’s injury questions….. although if they really want andrew bynum so much (and it seems they do) injuries cant be one of their main worries.

Yes

Melo, Dwight and CP3 is the optimum mix. I’d bet the house that that group would win a chip. CP3 makes everybody better; Melocan fócus on scoring, Dwight is relieved of the pressure of being the primary offensive option and can relish the role he’s naturally dominant in (defense and rebounding). A CP3-Howard PnR would be downright nasty.

Its the perfect blend.

Can someone please explain why we need 75 posts on this?

We are not trading Melo or Stat end of story.

It makes sense

Give me your argument against it

Amare was the first to make the leap of faith and sign with the Knicks

And the franchise will be loyal to him for that and we will not trade Melo after what we went through to get him and we will also be loyal to him after what he went through to get here.

Trading either of these guys after less than a yet turn our franchise toxic and nobody would ever sign here again.

The notion of trading these guys is ludicrous and I guarantee if you suggested it to someone on the inside of the franchise they would laugh in your face.

if your going to make an argument against stat, please dont use the loyalty argument. Knicks have no use for loyalty.

If a HOF center that gave his heart and soul for 25 years for one team can’t even get a desk job at MSG then some Phoenix sun with erstwhile knee problems who has been here for a grand total of one season is not immune from being shipped out as fast as he was shipped in. loyalty be damned.

I have to agree here. At the end of the day it's business and we've already seen it before

If player A is considered so much more of an asset/perfect fit for what a team needs to accomplish their goals, you can kiss player B goodbye. Amar’e is a great guy, but I have to believe he signed where his money health bill was fully secured. It wasn’t a leap of faith, it was a business decision. I’m sure he was hoping other guys would’ve signed here ( 2 others to be exact), but it didn’t happen…but he had no such security anyone else would sign here. He did have security that all 5 years would be insured. Not directed at Bababooey2, but on all this trade crap, I could honestly not give a great Extra E poop what trades we can make which will never happen, I’m rolling with what we got til someone tells me otherwise (as in Knicks FO).
