look, i know this isn't going to happen, but if we're giving up gallo, chandler, curry, randolph and felton... i'd rather get deron than melo.

it's just smarter... and utah makes out pretty well (especially bringing in felton to replace deron) with all the changes they're going through.

with a tweak here or there, we bring back deron and kirilenko (whose contract expires and who fills in at the 3 rather nicely... with defense). this gives us 2 stars, leaves the option still open for melo to come to us as FA (and to see if he really wants to be in NY on a winner)... THIS YEAR... as opposed to waiting 2 years to possibly get CP3 or deron... OR... we let kirilenko leave after this year, and use our room to bring in a big like gasol or chandler.

i'm just still not sold on melo. and a lineup of deron, fields, kirilenko, STAT and moz just feels more solid... especially with the options it gives us at the end of this year when free agency hits (and a lot better defense)

i know this is more wishful thinking... and i guess this post is for those who aren't sold on melo... which i'm not.
