2011 Free Agency: Yao Ming
Although currently injured and with his career in risk, Yao is one of the best players avalible next year. He has career adverages of 19pts 9rebs and 2blks. If the Knicks were willing to take the risk and Yao was willing to sign a 1 year vet min contract to rebuild his value and get his career back on track, it would be a match made in heaven. Billups (and hopefully eventually CP3 or DWill) Melo, Stat and Yao would be a championship formula. What do you think? Wouls you do it?

I dunno how healthy he is
and even if he’s cleared, he most likely will never be healthy.
That said, he could be our version of Big Z. For the right price, sure. He can shoot, so he passes the Pringles test. And I think he’s better then Earl Barron
Last night, a comedian died in New York. Somebody knows why. Somebody knows
only if he came with a lifetime supply of drano...
cause that lane, with stat, melo and yao would be more clogged than my colon after eating a whole box of matzoh

why would Yao play in the lane?
like I said, Big Z is his game at this point.

high post...
low block… shit, wherever yao is, he’s still 7’6… and lumbering. unless he develops his 3 point range, he’ll clog.
he’s the opposite of what we need. we need an agile rebounder, nimble help defender and a 5 who doesn’t need or look to score.

I'll take Oden before I take him
at least Oden doesn’t take 40 seconds to go from one end of the floor to the other
I think Oden is worth a very very very close look
If healthy (the big question) he offers potentially the most bang for the buck of any center becoming available. He is a super solid rebounder with soft hands good scorer and hi bbiq He will not demand or get anywhere near a max contract. He could be the miracle piece that puts us over the top. I don’t see too many paths to a championship for us. He may be the only Dwight level center out there. Yao is toast.imho
Island Red Fly - try it scrambled
If Oden signs a short low-risk deal, or a reasonable deal of moderate length
it will happen in Portland. the only way he doesn’t return is if someone gives him 60m/5yrs or so which won’t happen.

PDX was shopping him
and has said they’re not sure if they want to pick up his option.
if he could stay healthy, Oden could be the second best C in the league. but that’s a mighty big if.

They wanted to move his expiring so they could keep Pryzbo as a backup center
they might not keep up his option but they’ll look to re-sign him one way or another.

His career is over
And even if it was he would never survive Dantoni’s pace
d'antoni isn't gonna survive d'antoni's pace...
not with melo and stat joggin up the court to set up isolation plays.

you do understand how our offense works, right?
NY under STAT and Denver under Melo are both among the three fastest paced teams in the NBA, why the hell would the Stat/Melo Knicks not play fast?

we'll see, let's hope...
i worry about ball movement with these guys… especially melo.

Yao can not make it up and down the court in Houston's system
Hey would literally snap in half in D’Antoni’s

someone who can just rebound with the best of them. and that is within the knicks price range....
JEFF FOSTER.
If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere...It's up to you, New York, New York!!!!
if we get lucky.....
and he drops his price…..
Pryzbilla

+100000000000
he would be a perfect fit
If we could possibly end up with a team consisting of, CP3, Landry, Melo, Stat and Tyson Chandler I’m certain we could win a title.
P&T - Screw D-Will we got She-Will
Those feet are cooked, man.
I don’t think he can come back and be any sort of consistent (or healthy, for that matter). I’ll pass.
Leon Powe, perhaps?

While Yao's size is an obvious advantage...
remember how bad Houston did with him this year. with his minute caps and his non-existent speed he would really screw up this team. It would kill all consistency. Like Houston, this team should run the break and play fast, but that’s impossible with Yao.
And btw, he’d never take a minimum deal unless he really wants to play in NY. Although with the Chinese population in NY and all the sponsorships he could get, he could def make it up.
i recalled show time LA and Kareem was the slowest amongst the team.
so i dunno if it was bad for yao but all yao really needs to do here is a) grab defensive rebounds and just outlet the pass to chauncey or melo and just run to his pace b) just protect stat from foul trouble c) block shots when needed and e) score when given the opportunity. yao has that bball iq that fits with d’antoni just not sure if he is worth the money. is he bad with houston? well imagine not playing for a year and the system changing yeah that sucks but just look at it with a objective look and there that’s the reason.
Victory goes to the courageous!!
Ignore Yao Ming's past
Cus it’s is gone gone gone. IF he can even get himself healthy he will still be ultra fragile and with this high-octane offense, Yao is gonna have to run like never before.
It would be a foolish move to bring him on at any cost, really.

"Injury-risk" is putting it lightly
I’d say injury-certainty
