Artest?
Since Artest is on the outs in LA, do you think there is any chance the Knicks have enough to trade for Artest? Assuming the Carmelo trade occurs based on the rumored Chandler, Curry, Anthony and a pick what do you think of a starting lineup of: Felton, Artest, Carmelo, Amare, Turiaf? Defense improves significantly while no reduction in overall scoring. If Turiaf can't go then slide Amare in C and Fields in SG. I'm expecting that due to Artest's high contract the Knicks may be able to get Artest for Walker and Azu? Leaving the Knicks with Douglas, Fields, Williams, Moz and fillers off the bench. Crazy?

He denied the trade request
And you can’t just steal players from other teams.
what's with the Nets fan?

Hey I don't come to NetsDaily and comment on the terrible trades that you come up with
Least, I haven’t in a while.
Anyway Artest, while someone who has always wanted to be a Knick, wouldn’t fit.
Having a terrible year (8 ppg, 3 rpg ), bad shooter (a sin in a SSOL system), and wouldn’t fit with the flow of the offense. That said, Walker/Buike isn’t the most unrealistic trade. The Knicks would probably need to give up more, but Phil Jackson’s patience with Ron Ron is wavering.
Hey, NetsDaily monitors those things
So terrible trade ideas aren’t posted there
Is that a fact?
And are you suggesting this site goes unchecked? Cause that is certainly false.
The Triple Felt Goose movement shall live as long as I am around.
"A terrible trade"
Is based on opinion or something completely irrational. Nobody here, or almost nobody does such things. Sometimes trade proposals are posted that we all disagree with, so it’s called a terrible trade. But with the exception of a few, nobody posts ridiculous ideas like “trade Rautins for D-Wade”.
Also, saying those things sounds like a jab at guys who run this site like Seth and Osborn, who do a great job here
dude no way I would trade rautins for D-Wade
Rautins’ hair is SOOO much cooler
GO CUSE, BLUE, AND EAGLES!
racist!

More the Lakers unloading a malcontent than the Knicks stealing everyone. That's like praising Daivid Kahn for acquiring Beasley after Riley was desperately shopping him for months and had no takers.
Artest himself hilariously demanded and then denied that he wanted a trade. Phil has cut his usage down a lot. This isn’t Garnett to Boston.
Artest never demanded a trade
and Jackson isn’t a self-absorbed buffoon like most NBA coaches, so he actually deals with malcontents rather than whining to the GM to cut them loose for 25 cents on the dollar

Artest is basically shot
I wish he was a Knick way back when but nowadays I don’t think he really is worth it.

Artest would be super fun to have on this team
He would be energized to finally be playing in New York and his defense and toughness and leadership would be much appreciated. He could also become an extremely important piece as the Knicks become a second and third round playoff team in the coming years.
however.
He’s old. He can’t shoot. He’s isn’t cheap for what he brings. He would keep us from getting a superstar if we picked up his contract.
falling back
he isn’t that old (31) and he’s shooting 37.1% from 3 (not bad).
He isn’t a dependable shooter though. Last season, the Suns dared him to shoot 3’s all series long in the WCF’s.
I love Artest. I love St. Johns.
But I love the Knicks a lot more… so NO!
The Knicks are back.

Great perimeter defenders need to be young.
Everyone was talking about how great an acquisition Raja Bell was this offseason, and then they remembered that he’s old as dirt and can’t keep anyone in front of him. I’d entertain the idea of acquiring Artest like 2 years ago, but not now.
The exception would be Bowen, but he wasn’t nearly as good in his waning years and he made up for some of it by being the dirtiest player of all time.

Yeah, fuck that guy.
I never like him. i don’t care how good a defensive player he was, I would never want him on a team of mine. Fucker used to step in to shooters as they jumped so they landed on his foot. Caused many injuries from that shit, including Jamal Crawford. I think he did it to Dwyane Wade or Lebron James once too…

I'd say no
Artest is expensive and on the decline. We can do better. I want Igoudala.
