Hello all, just a brief update for where the Knicks stand right now as they backslide into the playoffs. If there's interest I'll keep this updated, and as teams become out of reach, I'll remove them.
I think this is an interesting look. For example, it shows that catching Philly and catching Atlanta will be about the same level of difficulty, and since Atlanta is slipping lately, it might even be easier.
Not sure if the jump is relevant if this post isn't on the front page, but I suppose you'll have to humor me and take it anyway:
Atlanta (5)
3-7 last 10
40-32
10 games remaining
Knicks Magic Number: 15
Knicks hold tie-breaker
Philly (6)
6-4 last 10
37-34
11 games remaining
Knicks Magic Number: 14
Philly holds tie-breaker
Knicks (7)
3-7 last 10
35-36
11 games remaining
Indiana (8)
5-5 last 10
32-40
12 games remaining
Knicks Magic Number: 10
Indiana holds tie-breaker
Milwaukee (9)
5-5 last 10
28-42
12 games remaining
Knicks Magic Number: 6
Milwaukee holds tie-breaker
The Magic Number is the sum of wins for the Knicks combined with losses from the other team in order to have the Knicks end up on top.
