Around SBN: Ray Allen Fighting Age, Injury And His New Role

Panic

I got so sick of watching the Knicks play lately that I finally had to create a fanpost. The night that Denver played after us just killed me inside.

Here is one thing that I simply cannot stand:
Amare's Defense. Seriously Amare? A couple nights ago he went from 1 foul to 5 fouls within 2 minutes. Lazy Defense. If you're just going to slap someone you might as well jump and go for the ball. I have been an NBA fan for years and watching Amare v. Howard was such a letdown. If anybody can recall the Lakers vs Kings season and playoff series of the early 2000s you'd understand my feelings. In those games Chris Webber, a stud offensive big man much like Amare, would take it upon himself to gaurd Shaq because he wanted to shut him down. He worked his ass off against Shaq and even though he was a PF gaurding a C it didn't matter because he had the heart to do so. Amare didn't even shut down Brandon Bass that night. He let Kwame Brown and Boris Diaw dominate the paint all night. I hate hearing "i was actually tired at the end of the first quarter" are you serious? What a disgusting excuse. Seriously go ahead and have an offnight offensively but you better at least give effort defensively and he doesnt. He is the on-court leader of this Knicks team and when they see him not giving a slightest effort on defense the rest of the team follows suit. Best example is the Celtics. KG plays hard defense on every possession and now Paul Pierce and Ray Allen, not known for defense, have followed their leader and play hard on defense all the time. Same with Derrick Rose and Noah, they energize their teammates to work harder. None of our stars play defense.

Thanks for letting me vent. I don't like Coach Mike but it isn't his fault he has no defensive leaders. It might be his fault for not emphasizing it more but he isn't the one out there giving up freebies.

Westbrook is having a better season

they’re about equal on offense and Westbrook is miles better on defense

well i dont know about being equal on offense, cause i saw rose aganist deron, paul, wade etc. and he is almost one man show,

Although i agree westbrook is also terrific, but he has kd by him and he is probably toughest matchup for rose.

when Durant was out, Westbrook was absolutely dominant

as in he had one of the best months of any player ever. his PER was off the charts, he was incredibly efficient, he was destroying any matchup thrown at him and tearing up doubles and triples.

He gets no love because OKC is a small market and he’s not on TV as much. if Westbrook were in Chicago and Rose in OKC they would have named the MVP the Russell Westbrook Award months ago.

I agree fully

He has been pissin me off lately and all season with that part but lately more. Me and my brother were screaming and cussin at his effort. He could have easily swatted them short guards who were right in front of him and he just let’s them get by. Lebron comes from the other side and blocks the shit out of these garbage guards whom we make look like stars. He makes 100 million, he is a superstar and allows garbage like Kwame and role players like, Diaw play better than him? This is ridiculous and I hope he just not trying hard right now or else this will be disappointing.
