The Corey Brewer Mystery [case closed]

So the sentiment amongst the commonfolk is, 'WTF. HOW COULD YOU DO THIS !??!'

You guys are smarter than your average bear and don't really need to read this. But I don't have anywhere else to share this juicy peice of info. Everyone on facebook is sick of my knicks related comments.

Anywho, I hope this bit o' info from Chris Sheridan puts the whole 'Why did we choose Jeffries over Brewer' question to bed. for good. as in forever. like perhaps with anesthesia or something.

Sedale (Bronx, NY)

Jeffries over Brewer? Proof that a certain former Pistons guard still has Dolan's ear?

Chris Sheridan  (2:09 PM)

Brewer wanted playing time, and D'Antoni told him he wouldn't get much, if any. So the Knicks did him a favor (remember, he is represented by Happy Walters, who also eps Amar'e) and cut him loose, and Corey made the most of it by getting $7 million over 3 years from the Mavs. Jeffries made more sense from a basketball standpoint because he can defend centers. The Knicks had nobody at the backup 5.

There's also a potential financial aspect to the whole shibang. Our very own Robert Curre hit the nail on the head when he posted the following.

Could also be a book keeping move.
Brewer no matter if he played or how well was going to be a rental anyway. He would have counted as 10 mil against the cap if we decided to keep him. If Brown plays well and we decide to keep him, he can be signed for league minimum. Thus giving us about 9 mil in wiggle room.

Tada !

Join us next week when we try to figure out whether Robert Curre and Robert Currence are evil clones of each other. and if so, how evil.
