I just saw the mock draft on Yahoo and they have Knicks select Markieff Morris. I think it'd be a great , great pick. Any 6-10 that can shoot is hard to find.
I see him a better version of Okur. He is not a good a shoot as Okur but a much better defender, and shot blocker. I think he definitely will flourish playing center in D'Antoni system. He can run the floor, run pick and roll, block shot, and shoot threes.
Before you start calling for point guard, imagine Billups, Johnny Flynn, Melo, Ama're and Markieff. That line up can spread the floor for Johny Flynn to get to the basket. I do not know if Johnny Flynn can run the team or not, but he can definitely get to the basket. He is fast enough to guard point guard, which allow Billups to slide over and guard the shooting guard. Knicks will try to get Flynn and get him play shoot guard, and NOT point guard.
Markieff is a much better upgrade over Jeffries. While I like 7 footer, but he'll be able to guard most center in the NBA. Knicks will be even harder to guard with in on the floor. Amar'e and Melo will have all the room to operate and Melo can get to the rack any time he wants.
Also, Knicks will acquire another draft picks which will allow them to draft a point guard. Josh Shelby and many other decent point guard will be available. Walsh is good at finding diamond in the rough so... Markieff at 17th... is gerat. What you think?
