Julyan Stone?

Patrick in New York:
You reported earlier this week that free agent point guard Julyan Stone would be meeting with the Knicks front office on Thursday. Did the Knicks sign him. Is he getting a training camp invite? Alex Kennedy:
Stone met with the Knicks on Thursday morning, and they told him not to go overseas. They want him to come to their training camp whenever the lockout ends and they told him that he'll have a legitimate chance to make their team. Stone is going to wait out the work stoppage and then see what happens during training camp.

Star-divide

that's from Alex Kennedy's weekly chat on HoopsWorld.com

Interesting. I remember hearing about interest in him before. I mean, any 6'7" PG intrigues me. Imagine running Shumpert and Stone... that would be a massive backcourt. Also, it shows a lot of interest if he's willing to forgo international bball in a lockout.

At least we got some non-lockout stuff to talk about.

I thought Stone should've been drafted

he seems like a candidate to make any roster in the NBA and for more then a few teams, most definitely the Knicks, have a shot of being in their rotation.

Having a few guys like TD, Sherbert and then Stone (and I guess Rautins..) who have PG skills but aren’t necessarily PGs (tho Stone probably is the truest PG of the bunch) is a good thing.

I really don’t know why he went undrafted.

D-League is still going right?

He can go to Erie and get paid, but I’m not sure a “legitimate chance” is enough to keep him in the States.

Congrats on winning your first NBA championship, Peja Stojakovic!

he can play in d league and develop until lockout ends if the d league is still on idk

also jorts , jordan ,rautins and shump should get some action down in erie , couldnt hurt to have the young non -rotation players ready to play right away

Our back court defense for the future

should be in great hands if we get Stone and Iman. 6"7 PG WOW.

The greatest player ever!!!

From what I've read about Stone

He’s a pass first point guard, to a fault. Not much interested in looking for his own shot. He’s worth a look, I think, because a) he’s 6’7", and b) playing with really good players could conceivably have a unpredictable and possibly fascinating effect on his overall usefulness. OK, I like it, now make a deal and end the lockout, sil vous plait.
