The Chances of Chandler

Good morning Intrepid Lockout Survivors,

Interesting story line this morning.

http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/knicks/post/_/id/6071/with-wilson-to-china-was-melo-deal-a-steal

I definitely wouldn't say it makes the Carmelo deal a steal, but I would admit that it takes some of the sting away... a little bit.

I miss Wilson a lot. Jump if you miss Wilson too!

So it got me thinking...

Wilson would not have gone to China if he was really enjoying George Karl and the Denver Nuggets...    right?

So when he returns from China in a year, as far as I can tell, he returns as an up-for-grabs free agent with no strings attached...   right?

Also, a year in China isn't exactly the best way to boost your free agent value. I doubt GM's will be looking to pay him the same amount as the players who put up big numbers in the NBA (assuming there's some kind of season). A year from now, rumors will start about how Wilson didn't exactly dominate China, like an NBA player should, and how he's slowed down a step, and he won't be able to adjust back to the speed of NBA games... and we here at P&T will softly chuckle, rubbing our hands, and nod knowingly, because we overstand who Wilson Chandler is.

Wilson has never struck me as an egotistical materialstic self-cannibalizing parasite like certain other NBA personalities. If anyone would choose to take less money to be in a comfortable, familiar situation with people he really liked, it would be Wilson...     right?

So, you can see where this is going, right? Almost everyone in this community misses Chandler, and we'd all like him to be a Knick, but until now it's been wishful thinking. However, now that China is in the mix...

What do you guys think?
