Optimism from a Pessimist
You guys sure aren't a welcoming community lol but let me try this again with a little less negativity. I was wrong guys we do have some hope. Obviously a point guard would make a world of a difference. But who's going to be that point guard?
People are claiming that an average point guard will do the trick, I beg to differ. We need a point guard that will demand respect when he steps on the court. Also on that like the ball in his hands so Amare will stop trying to "create a shot" and run out of bounds lol. But lets be realistic about who our point guard will be.
Baron Davis should make us a lot better the second hes in good enough shape to start. He can play with the best of them but only when motivated. Hopefully the pressures of playing in NY will be enough to keep him straight. He very well may be the guy for the job, which is the best possible outcome. Besides that the only one that comes to mind (without much thought) is steve nash. The only problem is he is taking his sweet old time to come here. Hopefully he gets tired of losing and Clyde said last night that he has a summer house in NY! Whats taking so damn long then!!!
Now on my last post i bashed Carmelo and Stat a lot. I was just in a negative mood, they can work together, but they need a third piece to keep them in check. To me, Carmelo is a naturally great basketball player. But he doesnt get into the best possible shape. He does what he can to get by. On an average night he has a terrible game, but he does have flashes of greatness. The question for him is how bad does he want it. Will he get sick of losing and bust his ass off in the offseason to take his game to the next level? Hopefully the media keeps bashing him so he has no reason but to, but lets not get our hopes up he didn't do it in Denver.
Now stat can be a pretty good player. As long as hes not creating his own shot. He needs a playmaker. Thats the only way for him to be a valuable player. He's a finisher not a creator.
We have the pieces and even some good young talent. (I've been Shumping just along with the rest of you) so lets get ourselves a damn point guard so we can have some damn fun!
Be easy on me now i'm new here!

Melo's in fine shape
At least better than previous years, but he’s been injured and playing hurt. There must also be something wrong with his head that he takes so many shots when his wrist hurts.
maybe you need to go see him up close are getting a bigger tv because he is not in the shape he needs to be in and hasnt been in a long time
which is probably why he won't move without the ball...
and just camps outside the 3 point arc… posting up.

we need a different owner. Plain and simple. Complete regime change is the way to go. Some people are dangerous for running a business and this owner is one. How the hell you gonna own a franchise in the biggest market and allow ten years to go down the drain like that? Then you got the most absurd of all which when they say we need to give credit to amare for bringing the knicks back. Back to what exactly? One playoff appearance just like marbury? He getting 100 million and dude can not play without an elite pg. We doomed ourselves if this doesn’t turn around and all that rebuilding meant nothing. When MDA first got here, we started off the season winning and great team playing. we had Zach Randolph, Crawford, Lee, Nate, Chandler, Galo, etc. That team would have been special but we got rid of the roster to save money for Lebron who never even considered New York. Zach has won most improved player awards since then and has outplayed Amare and Crawford has won 6th man awards.
This is what we get.
I freakin cant stand Dolan
and would love a regime change…but it can’t just be the regime right? I mean the Knicks haven’t won a Championship in my lifetime….Jimmy boy hasn’t been in charge that long. Maybe regime change a good start tho…
You just got Tysoned!!!!!!
yes, regime change would be a start
get rid of nightmares and start fresh. I wish he would sell the team but he won’t because money is always good.
I agree completely Rashad
ill never forget that year we started off great ZBO played amazing that was when he really started to assert himself as the player he is today we had a good team that year that played at a high level and i know big free agents was the plan but that team got me excited to be a fan we looked good
I am glad you remember
where are those “big free agents” or “superstars” now. Chris Bosh? I take Randolph over him any day. A lot players have this ‘superstar" status only because they may score a lot on a sorry team. Bosh looked like a superstar in Toronto and he was their best player but that is from from the real picture. He is a good power forward and the best role player Miami has. I believe that team would have achieved a lot and also keep in mind that the east was weak so we could have made the playoffs for sure and maybe more. That’s history now and pains me just to think about it but I can’t help it. The coach had just gotten to NY and was winning already with a roster that Isiah Thomas couldn’t do anything with. This is our payoff for all those years of waiting. This is 2010.
