Around SBN: Ray Allen Fighting Age, Injury And His New Role

Game Thread: Knicks vs. Bucks- 1/20/12

Milwaukee Bucks at New York Knicks, Jan 20, 2012 7:30 PM EST

Evening, moonbuddies! The Bucks are in town to face the Knicks tonight. Those Bucks will be without Stephen Jackson, who just got suspended, but will play Mike Dunleavy and Luc Mbah a Moute, both of whom are returning from injury (and the former of whom has been known to torment the Knicks). Carmelo Anthony will suit up and start for New York, despite a sore wrist, a sore ankle, and the family issues that were reported about after the last game. Milwaukee, like New York, is trying to break out of a losing streak. In their case, it's eight straight losses on the road and three straight overall.

This be your place to comment, and you're encouraged to do so without posting .gifs, photos, illegal streams, or links to gorillas-only online classifieds. Also, don't forget to check out Brew Hoop, where I answered a few questions about the current state of the Knicks. Tip-off's at 7:30.

SHUMP just sounds so ahead of his time

just waiting for him to play up to that, not knocking him because he’s (imo) great for a rookie but to watch him evolve is a sight i cant wait to see

So the question tonight is which will move more? The Ball or the yo yo in tonight's video?

Hopefully the game’s more exciting cuz I could only stand about ten seconds of yo yo-ing before watching the grass grow in the background. Sorry Seth. Please don’t hate me!

Most Likely to Have a Career Game Tracker

The Bucks are in luck. They have two things going for them. One, they are a bad shooting team. Two, they are playing the Knicks. Expect career 30% shooters to go 5/8 from 3.

Anyway, tonight’s contestants are Stephen Jackson and Carlos Delfino! Both have the unnatural ability to get hot from the outside if left completely open, as the Knicks are wont to do.
Super Special Sleeper Pick: Jon Leuer He’s young, tall, and most importantly a stretch-4. Think of him like a lesser Jorts.

Interesting fact: The IUPAC name for a 3 carbon aldehyde is propanal.

Jackson's out!

I’d put my money on Leuer or Ilyasova.

by Seth on Jan 20, 2012 7:29 PM EST up reply actions

Ooh, that gives me a stupid idea!

We should get five starters with the last name of “Jackson.” That’s right, we would have the Jackson Five!

I love that this has become such a thing against the Knicks that it's now A Thing in these gamethreads.

And Dunleavy’s gonna clown on us all. I’d have picked Bogut last year but this season we have an actual C so thank god for that.

Jennings has a very good chance of destroying the Knicks

But I don’t like to pick opposing teams’ star players. Its generally that one bench guy who kills you for a game and then fades back into obscurity. And yes, in this scenario Brandon Jennings is the star player.

Bernard was afraid of water. He had to overcome his fear in order to begin his rehab. Once his rehab was underway, he began to challenge people to swimming races.

I wouldn't pin it on MDA, but I would agree when you say everybody

I have stayed positive thru most every game despite liking to crack jokes game threading, but tonight I wouldn’t cry if we chucked the whole superstar thing/iso’s/ etc. Landry TD and even Amar’e could ALL hit outside shots last season. They can’t even sniff the rim this season. I see a lack of practice, cohesion, chemistry, leadership, but plenty of effort. Isee an offense that moves when Melo is not on the floor. We need a PG to run this O so bad words cannot describe

i'm praying the nuggets destroy us with TEAM ball...

and melo reads the papers the day after, and finally wakes the F up.

might be the wake up call he needs

the nuggets could care less who the leading scorer is. they’re having fun out there…

This is ridiculous

The Knicks are now 20-27 since the trade
I blame this on D’Antoni more then anyone else. He has failed to make any type of adjustments during games, has failed to preach defense and has failed to preach ball movement, the style of play he wants CAN’T WORK with this team
Oh and thank god Melo got ejected so I didn’t have to watch him hold the ball for 15 seconds followed by a mid-range double teamed chuck

I never came here to kiss Bill Belichick's rings. I came here to win, let's put it that way. ... I'm certainly not intimidated by New England or anybody else. Rex Ryan

It's not D'Antoni's fault

It;s Dolan’s fault for forcing a trade that created a team that doesn’t make sense.

Rec'd

Dolan is culprit #1 here. Everything else is secondary.

Chris Paul

should have been the target from Day 1 some1 to facilitate the offense and to increses what they had b4 the trade.

Knicks can't do shit post trade

And I honestly would rather have billups or a pg over Chandler right now… Commiting so much money to 3 people is stupid as fuck.

This isn’t saying Chandler isnt better than billups because he is but billups is gone after this year freeing up a lot of mobey.

I'm hoping Davis helps change our fortunes and still think he can....but my biggest problem is liking certain players on our team.

Last year I expected struggles but liked the team and general unselfishness …this year grrrrr. For me I hate ISO basketball….didn’t like Mark Jackson’s game and don’t like watching Melo’s and Amar’e’s as presently played out. I don’t hope for what isn’t here but I really want to like this team. Right now TD, Amar’e and Melo are all in my doghouse sharing tea. Fields stops in from time to time to say hi.

I know this isn’t the ideal scenario, but there have been teams with a lot less talent that have done much better.

It’s inexcusable really.

"Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

LET'S GO RANGERS!!!

we realize what the Knicks haven't

Most teams can be good moving the ball and playing defense. The Knicks do neither!!

Well at least Melo managed to go 4-5 in the 4th

Off course when he starts making shirs..no one else does. Still think we need to trade one these “superstars”.
