I think it is Phil Jackson Time!
I think we have the talent to win a championship but we just don't have the coach to motivate the team. I time we get rid of Pringles and call up Phil Jackson and ask him how much do you want to coach the Knicks. You know he will guide us to a championship. He has won as well all remember with the Bulls and then pulled it of with the Lakers. I don't think the players believe in D'Antoni anymore and being that this is a short season it would be better to get rid of him now bring in Jackson get to the playoffs and see what we we can do. I am not saying he is not a good coach D'Antoni is a good coach but we need a great coach to handle this Knicks team!

Phil Jackson ain't walking through that door.
And unless you were pining for Mike Woodson to leave his perennial 4th-seed Hawks teams before he came over after he was fired, what makes you think he’d be better?
It’s also useless and a waste of everyone’s time to go FIRE DANTONI without having a viable successor in your next sentence. Not that I think it would make much of a difference right now. It’s on the players and lack of time for the coaches to inculcate what they want into the players. The hard-nosed, disciplinary coaches like Scott Skiles would lose this team faster than Marbury can send a text from China to Berman.
Some people want to fire Dantoni because he doesn’t call enough time-outs? What the fuck is that shit? Do people think Phil Jackson is a serial time out-caller? That he’ll play the rookies unlike Dantoni or all the other cliches he’d undoubtedly fix with a wave of his hardcarved Montana-wood cane? What Phil Jackson have you guys been watching?
I dream of Eddie Curry feeding me fish sticks.
Look at it Dave. Look at it.
Do people think Phil Jackson is a serial time out-caller?
that guy will let the opposition go on 20-2 run without calling a time out.

But when he does it, it's Zen.
When Dantoni does it, it’s headless chicken.
Dantoni coaches like this, but Phil Jackson coaches like this.
I dream of Eddie Curry feeding me fish sticks.
Look at it Dave. Look at it.

I'm in no way some angst-less Knick fan right now, but it gets crazy here whenever we start losing(especially now that we have players better than Mardy Colli-oh hey wussup Toney).
Look at the flood of FanPosts after last night’s loss all wearing sack cloth and pouring ashes on their heads. Losses cut me deep, seriously deep, but until we get the PG this system and personnel need I just grip my earlobes and Woosah my ass after every loss.
Let me just say it here, too. When Baron comes back and we still look shaky for the first few games after his return, let’s try not to all enter a suicide pact. It would be amazing if he DID just step in without missing a beat. I’m hoping this is where Amazing Happens, too, but we always need to keep our heads people.
Or at least make sure the medicine we’re proposing doesn’t harm more than it helps.
I dream of Eddie Curry feeding me fish sticks.

toney has been so mardy collins it hurts my soul.
but i’m not worried. get me to the playoffs, lets see what happens there. and then lets take a step back and assess what we saw this season.
thats the only thing i ask. its the only thing i’ve asked for from this team for the past 12 years.

Woodson was fired in by the Hawks and his team was weird and inconsistent
He gets fired and they suddenly beat Orlando and his successor is wise enough to put other big bodies on Dwight Howard and save Al Horford. you can live with Dwight scoring 35 as long as his shooters are kept out of it, and Woodson couldn’t figure that out. Why is Woodson so respected suddenly?

Part of the reason that I don't want to fire D'Antoni
is I enjoy his brand of basketball. I think its fun to watch and can be very effective. Also, we might have had success with defensive minded teams in the 90’s but our championship teams in the 70’s played a lot closer to the style D’Antoni preaches
not to mention the rule changes
the hand check rule basically does not allow a team of defensive bruisers to be successful.
the clear path foul is almost worse than a flagrant foul.
he needs smart players, specifically at the point guard to make things flow more freely. but hey- we’ll get a smart point guard either with baron davis or with someone else in the future. just gotta be able to take some lumps.
as a kid if i ever fucked up, my mother do something to make sure i never forgot it. and i wasn’t able to cry or complain if i got hit. a lot of kids these days don’t get ther 4g phones to refresh their email inbox fast enough and they throw a temper tantrum. thats what all this fire d’antoni stuff is to me.
buncha babies who never heard somebody say no to them, or tell them they’re just a dumb baby. well- a lot of people want the coach gone, and they don’t know what that really means to the team, and those people are dumb babies.

This is true but...
Has D’Antoni won any Championships with his brand of Basketball? No Has Phil Jackson won Championships of yeah!
yo man
ask yourself how many coaches have won championships that are still coaching?
i’ll even let you include phil jackson. fuck it, i’ll even let you have larry brown.
then answer me how many coaches in the league that haven’t won a championship.
of the few who have, doc rivers, rick carlisle…. they have two between them.
so be infatuated with action if you must. but know that you’re being insane.

24 hours is ample time to come with the answers
what is the problem?
/// aighttho.com \/// twitter.com/aighttho \
they just don't get it
It’s not the coach but the players. Phil wouldn’t be able to coach number 7. Is that hard to understand for people? Mda was doing good in that short time he coached the team with ZBO, Crawford etc. They were already winning, playing uptempo ball and were a deep team. They screwed it up because of the 3 queens in Miami.

I'm starting to think the the Phoenix Suns had a lot more to do with Steve Nash than they did with D'Antoni.
Cuz what I’ve been looking at for the last couple years ain’t been fun.
A lot of people don’t remember, but D’Antoni stunk up the joint in Denver before he coached in Phoenix, and he had perfectly capable guards there in Chauncey Billups and Nick Van Exel.

there is no thinking about it....
that is the truth
You just got Tysoned!!!!!!
*Smoking weed on a ranch in Montana
It is Phil Jackson remember.
Since JVG and Dolan taking over
D’antoni has been our most successful coach….
Not saying he has been successful.
My Wife is a Patriot's fan...
Phil Jackson is not crazy and don't need the headache
You honestly believe Phil Jackson would coach a team like this? Nobody can coach number 7 so you should actually give MDA some credit for trying. You couldn’t do it and nobody could do it. The guy is not possible to coach and will never adjust. Give it up already.
you know what i'll do to this thread actually
i’ll point out that placing even higher expectations on this team is just utterly ludicrous.
everyone sets the bar way too high to start out with. then you go and ask for the coach who has the most championships ever. you think your expectations will be met? they will be higher than they are now. yet you have not improved the personnel.
furthermore- the team will have to go through the process of learning the most patient and heady offense ever invented for basketball. way to set them up for the short term failure that you will in turn condemn them for!
if you are on board the A-Raj laffapalooza train, you should watch this.
then come back. we’ll talk.
/// aighttho.com \\\/// twitter.com/aighttho \\\
I have many qualms with D'Antoni, but I do NOT want Phil Jackson.
I honestly believe that his legacy is a mere product of Michael Jordan, Kobe, and Shaq.
And as stingy d pointed out earlier in the thread, Phil Jackson suffers from the exact same condition as D’Antoni when it comes to calling timeout and developing rookies.
Calling for D’Antoni’s head is one thing. Calling for it to be replaced with Phil Jackson demonstrates of a lack of understanding for our current situation.
Dirt strong, son.

we still wouldn't score
2012 New York Mets, World Series Champions!
Sure we would
The ball would magically fling itself into the hoop the minute Toney goes over or under (or through, by vibrating really fast like the flash) a screen.
Get The Frickin' Rebound
Have a problem reach for the biggest name available.
We have spent the last 25 years going after the biggest names we could get our hands and how many titles have we won? Zero. Maybe something else should be tried.

never got any of the real big ones
except for ewing

If you want to call Houston and LJ
removed from his prime as biggest names….
You just got Tysoned!!!!!!
I was referring to Pat Riley, Don Nelson, Isiah Thomas, Larry Brown, Lenny Wilkins
You know those guys. All were run in here because they were the sexiest names on the block at the time. And they won zero titles. I Know you guys have to get that since my comment was in reference to going out and hiring the next big name coach, because big names are sexy and make lazy organizations actually look like they are doing something. Look at the names above with the exception of Isiah all are in the hall of fame as coaches, and Isiah is in as a player. All did their biggest and best winning someplace else for someone else. So what is our solution? Go get the guy who did the most winning someplace else for someone else and bring him in here. So what happens after Phil gets here and doesn’t win. Watch how fast he runs back to his retirement. What then? I Know Gonna go after Gregg Pops right! Duncan will be either gone or using a walker and the Spurs will need to rebuild, so I am sure he will come here right! Not him, Well I am sure Doc Rivers will quit after the Celtics fail to make the playoffs, get him! Geesh folks!
