Around SBN: How The Kings Beat The Coyotes: Lather, Rinse, Repeat

Postgame Thread: Nuggets 119, Knicks 114 (2OT)

So, short of an actual explosion, that was about as eventful as it could have been. In the end, the same ol' troubles and heartbreak. There will be a recap once I calm down.

I lol'd

when Amar’e made that three, and it wasn’t a happy laugh. It was more like a “I need to go to a mental hospital” laugh. No shots for 2 overtimes and the 4th. Just a running three on a stupid drawn up play by D’Antoni, one that we’ve seen before mind you. Disgusting.

Jeffries was 2-3 for 5 points tonight.

Fun Fact: The Knicks have never won a game Jeffries has played in that ended in double-OT.

an acceptable loss, one we wouldn’t blink an eye at if we hadn’t lost 5 before it.

Most Likely to Have a Career Game Tracker

sigh…

Tonight’s winners are; every single former Knick.

Gallo had 37 points and 11 rebounds. Mozgov had 16 and 7. Al Harrington had 24 and 11. Hell, even Corey Brewer had 6 and 4. I guess we were tremendously lucky that Wilson Chandler and Felton are no longer on the Nuggets.

Interesting fact: I am very sad.

by Chairman Meow on Jan 21, 2012 11:00 PM EST up reply actions

Very little ball movement on the whole,

a ton of ISO’s & a bunch of mid range jump shots. Slowly but surely, they’re becoming the Atlanta Hawks. They need a pass point PG like an Andre Miller to steer the offense right now. A point that doesn’t need to shoot much, is a good decision maker & doesn’t turn the ball over often.

And someone has to tell Melo it’s OK to pass the ball. LeBron James loves to pass, & he’s twice the player Melo is.

And if not, I turn around & say forget it.

by Brian. on Jan 21, 2012 11:01 PM EST reply actions

Lebron passes and drive to the hoop and misses clutch shots

Melo isos all game and chucks from 15+ feets and hits clutch shots…

Hey at least melo got 1/3 which is 33%, which also happens to be his fg%

the ball was moving very good in first half and when number 7 was out

you would think after sitting out and seeing how the shots started falling and they build a big lead, he could come in and continue but he instead screws everything up again. I guess can’t expect adjustment or much intelligence out of someone who has low IQ. It’s unfortunate that players like that make it to the NBA. He should be on the streets playing 1 on 5.

can someone explain to me why whrn Tyson fouled out that JORTS wasnt put in??

we started getting killed on the boards! the Nyuggets started getting o-rebounds like crazy. atleast with JORTS in we couldve got some of those boards, interior D and a viable option on the offensive end. that move is still baffling me. That and the no call when Harrington tripped up Chandler as he was on the floor right before Andre hit that 3 from Carmines on 42nd St.

Yea and somehow, we STILL lost...

Funny how that works, no matter what he always seems to get his regardless od the situation… If anything, I think tonight is a classic and crystal clear example number 1 of him and Stoudemire not being able to coexist. They def need to either have a sit down and figure it out, and like do that yesterday or one of them needs to go. No other way to go bout it

by Nickel06 on Jan 21, 2012 11:23 PM EST up reply actions

he did not come through. He was the reason why they were even in the game and we lost the lead because of him

he actually made it tougher even if we had won. It would never have even come down to that if he was a better team player but he won’t be.

by RASHADI on Jan 22, 2012 1:29 AM EST up reply actions

This is the result when you switch very frequently and don't communicate and also play lots of iso-ball

Whatever. Some possible (hopeful (ironic?)) silver lining:

The Knicks’ started turning their season around last year after a close loss in Denver. As Seth also pointed out to me, Landry Fields had a great game that night. The Knicks then went on to win 13 of their next 14.

Hopefully a sign of things to come

That and the problem that TD is a fail machine at PG and Shump apparently cramped out

He becomes the best facilitator on the floor unfortunately. I think even tho this team may’ve been tired they could’ve rotated more….
Melo’s biggest prob at the ends there is how looooooooong he holds the ball and not even looking to see where fellas are on the floor cuz his head is down and when he looks up there’s 3 guys crowding him. He was actually excellent when he penetrated and kicked out. There just wasn’t enuff of it. He never can facilitate the other side of the floor unless it’s a long cross court pass cuz he’s glued to the right side and is never in position to give it to Amar’e

I Knew this was wasted season

When the mantra became wait til Barron Davis gets healthy.

How the hell does Stat only get 9 FREAKING SHOTS, WTF COACH NO D?

Seriously, Iman has 2x as many shots as Amare?!?

Although we shot better than Denver, the game was lost here: -8 rebounding, -3 turnovers, -14 in fouls, -22 FT attempts.

Seriously, can we just end the Pringles at te end of this season?

At the end of the day, at least we’re not the Celtics.

After they’ve been told for years how wonderful their game is. Damn skippy its gonna take time…but after 10 years? OK You’re dating a hot chick. it’s more like you been dating an ugly chick who sucks in the sack for 10 years, when all of a sudden a former escort comes along who is hotter than any chick you seen in a long time, especially compared to the ugly girl. She tells you that she is done with that life that made her lots of money, and now she wants only to be with you, and will do crazier things for you than you can imagine, but first you need to get to know her, wine and dine her while she gets over all her VD’s, and lets her body recover to its ‘tightest’ form
