Amare and Tyson for Dwight Howard and pieces?
I was just browsing the Net and came across this. Granted it's from Steven A Smith so it might be conjecture at this point but if Orlando is stupid enough to do this am I the only one who thinks we are getting a steal?
http://www.iamagm.com/news/2012/01/23/espn.reports.magic.have.inquired.about.trade.amare.stoudemire.and.tyson.chandler?%20utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
even if we have to take back chris doodoo hon i'd say we'd be better off for it.

salary wise it would work if we did something along the lines of
amare/ tyson/ fields/ douglas
for
d12/ hedo / glen davis / duhon
i think it makes us a better team. orlando dumps all it’s bad contracts and still gets value and stays competitive. we’d be doing chandler and amare kind of dirty but it’s a business.
I want to see ...
What a real coach could do with this team first before we blow it apart. That seems reasonable and prudent, which of course means the Knicks will never do it !!

That's why Mikey should get to the end of the season
So we can see what a real coach can do with a real roster, or at least a real PG added to the roster. And to the main post, hell no I wouldn’t do that. Let’s keep blowing up the roster and moving sideways. so much fun.
I do agree that he will (and should)
get to the end of the season to coach this team. I don’t believe he is the right coach for this team tho…
You just got Tysoned!!!!!!
it's a bad karma move...
but a smart basketball move… i guess.
baron/duhon
shump/bully
hedo/balkman/novak
big baby/jorts
d12/jordan?
ahh shit… i dunno anymore. i guess a dominant scorer + the most dominant defender, who won’t get in each others way might work. not the most likable squad… but that’s what shump and jorts are for.
You forgot about Melo!

stan's a better coach than that
he would get ryan playing time, especially since they rely on the 3 a little too much too in that offense
You just got Tysoned!!!!!!
baron/duhon/bibby
shump/bully/
melo/hedo/novak
bigbaby/jorts/balkman
d12/jordan/
I guess we would have some cap space too, or do Duhon/Big Baby/Hedo make the same as Tyson/Landry/TD?

LET'S GO RANGERS!!!
as a knick fan......
i like it… melo can shoot anything and dwight will rebound what ever he miss and it give us a chance to pick up a pg.

you know what this team needs
LESS DEPTH.
great nosensical trade idea. it will fix everything.
/// aighttho.com \\\/// twitter.com/aighttho \\\
no more trades involving big names please
there are trades to be made, and hopefully a player currently in China can be signed, but let’s see where this team takes us. It’s been like 15 games
2012 New York Mets, World Series Champions!
that was is interesting
2012 New York Mets, World Series Champions!
that one**
2012 New York Mets, World Series Champions!
shit yes and twice on tuesday!
but it wont happen because it would make to much sense. We have a bad mix of “talent” , but thats been known for awhile.
I may not be the most noble of men but in a town of lepers, im the one with the most fingers.
Giant LB'zz SUCK!! Mark Herzlich, Jacquian Williams,...Maybe .. Sadly this has been modified.
We don't need anybody
Seriously, we are just playing the wrong guys.
Dump Melo
If that doesn't work dump Pringles
Too early to hit panic button
I think we need to see this team at full strength first before blowing it up
You just got Tysoned!!!!!!
They are not going to do that trade...
Amare’s age + his health + his production this year = they’d have to be crazy
If they have a change of getting Bynum, who while also injury prone is younger and more productive, you make that trade first. That means you also get Howard out of the East where you have to face him on a regular basis.
It’s nice to fantasize, but this ain’t gonna happen.
When I get in the game... win or lose... you know it's pretty much over.

I meant a "chance", not a "change"

Sorry but this would be horrible.
Sure, Dwight Howard is stellar. But I honestly would ratehr have the combination of Amare/Chandler over Howard since BOTH guys can actually hit their FTs at a high % and both are quite proven as frontcourt players.
PLUS…. when did Glen Davis become such a value player? He kinda sucks. And worse, he clamors for minutes. If he doesn’t get minutes, the Big Baby comes out. Is THAT what we want? The dude will forever be a role player off the bench. Is it worth trading two all-star starters to get 1 all-star starter and marginal bench players?
Hedo Turkoglu? He has shown how good he is away from the Magic. Remember his year in Toronto? Portland is STILL thanking their lucky stars for Hedo backing out of the contract he initially intended to sign with them. Hell, he’s not even that great with the Magic. He also has a tendency to complain when he doesn’t get his way.
The Magic would poop in their pants out of excitement to replace Dwight Howard with 2 All-NBA players while also moving two players with expensive contracts and reputations of complaining.
This is exactly the sort of trade the Knicks shouldn’t make. In landing Dwight Howard, the Knicks would still be losers because our frontcourt would still suck and we’d be stuck with no money and overpriced players. At least right now, we have no money but we have good players!
