Postgame Thread: Knicks 111, Bobcats 78
Hey, that was nice! The Knicks faced a bad team and actually made them look like a bad team! And Carmelo Anthony toned down the isolation play and moved the ball! And Tyson Chandler was absolutely dominant And Amar'e Stoudemire did Amar'e Stoudemire things! And Landry Fields was extremely Landry! And there was extended garbage time and everybody did cool dunks!
Full recap coming later!

I don't think the goal of taking out the starters in the 4th quarter was to expand the lead
So I almost feel bad for the Bobcats that the Knicks beat them 38-21 in the 4th, but damn, our bench bros were awesome!
I think Lin should get a few non-garbage minutes to see what he can do

Knicks Won!

It's tough being a Knicks fan. Being a Giants and Yanks fan is great though.

maybe he will take tomorrow night off and get healthy
so he can start scoring again. Though I imagine him just being out there, as well as picking up the 11 boards and 4 dimes, helped this team more than people will give him credit for

Jared Jeffries Shot Tracker
Jeffries was 3/5 from the field tonight for a season-high 11 points. It’s the most points he’s scored in a regular season game since April 6th, 2010. He also outscored Carmelo Anthony 11 to 1. This is not the first time he’s outscored a slightly more gifted teammate:
Fun Fact: On November 22, 2002, Jeffries outscored teammate Michael Jordan 9 to 8. Not surprisingly, his Wizards lost that game 93-86.

The Knickiest Knick...
looked better than Iman “can’t make a layup” Shumpert. Good thin Tyson was there to make his shots for him!!!
A little of both. I'm a huge sports trivia nut but everything comes from somewhere
Basketball-reference.com is always my first source for NBA knowledge. In this case though, I stumbled on the fact awhile ago and had it ready in case a game like this ever happened.

yay!
highlight of the night for me was when Chandler got one of his thunderous dunks with an and-one and the announcer for Charlotte goes “he never did that when he was here”.
As a Knick fan that is something I’ve said a few times in my day. Tack on the win and I’m a happy guy tonight. Keep it up and we should have a nice one on Friday against the Heat….on TNT!! I can watch it in HD!!!

and you all laughed when i had him on my fantasy team
i cut him for kyle korver
that was the most cruelly entertaining garbage time ever
novak with his 3 ice cold 3’s. lin cross on haroldson(?), oop to balkman, jordan dunking. landry pull-ups.
can we beat cleveland
so we can get one of those things you get when you win more than once

cleveland owned us last year
they better watch some tape and take this one seriously….and play Baron!! would be a perfect debut!!

lin 4 assists in 8 minutes
the kid deserves more time if he can penetrate and find the open man like that against even the opposing second units

I was impressed....
He played well. A little over anxious but that would subside if he got used to minutes.
I especially liked the Landry pull-up
That’s my favorite shot for him. A la Grant Hill
my favorite is when he cuts under the hoop
catches it and turns around for the easy lay in
2012 New York Mets, World Series Champions!
Oh yeah that's true
That’s more about the pass though. That pull-up is something that’s going to be available for him in the secondary break 6-7 times a night, and I think that’s an easy-ass way to pick up 8-9 points a night. I mean really, watch Grant Hill play and all he does is shoot that shot, corner 3’s, and transition stuff. Remind you of anyone?
how about the put back dunk off missed free throws and threes
haven’t seen that in a minute

was thinking of the free throw put back he had last year when I typed that

Beer goggles for Knicks benchwarmers
I approve
“Well hey there, JEREMY. You’re lookin’ a-pretty pretty good tonight. What do you say we go back to my place and… run some pick and rolls?”
He looked better when he was passing to Jerome Jordan

Most Likely to Have a Career Game Tracker
Tonight’s winner: Us! We won! Finally.
But, sticking to the format, the winner is… First Half Kemba Walker!
Kemba Walker’s good side played great in the first half, but his evil side took over in the second half. He still managed to finish with 22 points.
Interesting fact: I watched this game at the expense of my midterms.
Lessons we learned
Let’s hope the Melo understands he has been a big part of our problem, but he can be a HUGE part of the solution too. If he makes the right choice and buys into that whole crazy “team ball” notion, then our Bockers might make us proud yet !!

hope so, he just seems a little gimpy lately...
though i love how you can literally see him learning to think the game.

Amar'e 7-12
not bad. Why no threes? He can’t call himself a stretch 4 without shooting some threes.

Love it
Couldn’t watch the game but Seth’s brief summary makes me very happy

This might be the first time in NBA history
The team’s leading scorer plays 30 minutes and finishes with the fewest points on the team. And they still win by 33 points. Incredible

didn’t see the game but how was the D? did we switch on every possession like we did vs denver or did we manage to stay with someone? i know the score belies this comment but that was a huge point of contention for me. seeing chandler stick with miller every god damn time while shumpert would have to roll with nene.
amare would collapse which lead to wide open 3’s for harrington. same thing happened in orlando.
Bobcats didn't set a lot of picks, so there was less switching.
But they still switched plenty. Did so crisply and did a much better job rotating, too.
But also the Bobcats just suck mule ass
I think Humpty wins for "cool dunk of the night"
That tomahawk was just sick!
Also enjoyed Mike Breen extolling the virtues of Renaldo’s coolness…
Come home, turn on espn,
right away see melo had 1pt and 11rebs. Best news of my life. now i see his full stat line, 0-7. Still the best news of my life.
I had the game feed on my phone at work but barely got to look at it, tho i did see some Lavishly Landry things in the 4th. And a Novak sighting! anything i should know that I can’t see on the stat lines? Should I be worried at all about melo, despite his sagely decisions? Can I assume it was Sage and not injury?
Oh yeah. That's what winning feels like.
Still waiting for the other shoe to drop, what with us having four games in five nights and Dantoni thinking about intro’ing Baron during that stretch, but I’ll take it. I’ll take it and run like the motherfucking wind.
I dream of Eddy Curry feeding me fish sticks.
Look at it Dave. Look at it.
Sorry. I got a little overjoyed for a moment...
Not normally a gif poster….
Man I think what makes me most happy about this win
is the continued success of Landry Fields, who really was one of my favorite players last year, particularly pre-melo. I feel guilty because late last season and early this season I doubted him, but I really hope this is a sign that he’s got his confidence and his shot back. I love the dude
also on knicksnow.com interview he said how people for some reason sometimes called him “Laundry” and that made me laugh
Oh, and B-Diddy apparantly was not great in the 3-3 scrimmage, so probably not in tomorrow… but wouldnt it be great if he was in good shape and ready to play the Miami Heat?
