Trade suggestion....not including Melo STAT
Today was the deadline for extending the contracts of those eligible and one very interesting player was not extended. His name is ..... Eric Gordon. Now Gordon was the main piece of the CP3 deal and i know this could be a difficult maneuver but one that i really feel could help us out. The Knicks have many needs right now like a PG, defense, and a 3pt shooter. Gordan can be a great outside scoring threat to allow Melo to now score in ways he does best (drive and create his own shots) and not have to shoot so many 3's. I know we have been having difficulty getting enough shots to go around and this by no means helps but he's just really really good at what he does. I think that him not resigning shows concerns that he doesn't want to go back and theirs difficulty getting guys signed because the NBA owns the Hornets. Im not going to really go into who we would trade because no one truly knows but it would obviously have to be one or more of our young guards, picks and an expiring contract. This is probably one of the lesser thoughts right now but i saw that he wasn't picked up so i thought I would throw it out there.
Pros- Scoring (3pt), not a terrible defender, true 2 guard, get to move combo guard(s)
Cons- adds to shot concern, Knee?, pieces to move
Pros seem to out way the cons in my opinion

Gordon would be nice
I don’t think we have the pieces to make a trade tho
You just got Tysoned!!!!!!
Can we sign him
douglas, walker, and balkman for gordon.
I think that would be enough. Gordon is leaving anyway and they get some talent for him.
If we get him, I say sign Gilbert Arenas to play point/sg and cut lin or bibby to sign kmart and jr smith to come off the bench
why would they agree to trade Gordon for essentially just Douglas?
the other two are bench warmers on all teams
2012 New York Mets, World Series Champions!
Well i don't know... Our only option is trading douglas and fields....
But fields has played well as of late and might 50 on us when play against him.
It happens sometimes.
Gordon is injury prone, and our 2012, 2014 number one draft choices
have already been given away.
Nice to see Gallinari signing a four year contract extension for $10.5 mil
per year for four years. or $42 mil.
David Lee is signed for $13.5 mil.
Let’s see if we kept Lee and Gallinari, it would count for $24 mil
How much are we paying Amare and Melo?
Would Lee and Gallinari’s team trade them for Amare & Melo-even up?
And throw in a coup[le of number ones, Wilson Chandler, & Mozgov?
Outside NY, fans would shoot a GM who would suggest shuch deals.
Only in NY do we have people in management who are incapable of evaluating talent.
I find it difficult
to respond to posts with egregious spelling errors. Just weighing in on that.

eric gordon is for sure interesting
especially since I was hoping we would take him in the draft (but by that logic he would be in denver right now).
I think he needs to many shots to be effective, and plus he’s a huge injury risk.
I like your creativity, but he seems like a poor man’s allan houston. I’ll pass.

Yeah no
Gordon is a creator. He isn’t just a catch and shoot player. His game totally doesn’t compliment Melo’s his gave doesn’t even compliment Deron Williams’. Gordon matches up well with Rondo, Rubio, or Wall at PG, along with a midrange shooting SF.
Sorry I didn't explain that..
He matches up with those PGs because they can’t shoot 3’s.
One of my fav players but no way we get him
I would put my life on it that he ends up with Indiana. He wants close to a max contract anyway how would we be able to sign him? We don’t have anything the hornets would want. He’s from the Indiana area and they have a good team with several pieces, chances are he ends up there.
No way in hell we could get him.
He was the centerpiece in the Chris Paul deal and was asking for a MAX contract… you think that’s the kinda player a team just gives away for spare parts?
I don’t even think we could get him for Amar’e (or with a third team like Houston giving New Orleans some pieces with HOU getting Amar’e).
