there is only one thing this team does good and it's irritating the hell out of us. Boy, do they know how to suck life and fun out of the air. Don't they know how to ruin momentum and just ruin your mood and that pumped up feeling you get when things looking good? Just when you think they will start winning, we are knocked right back into our seats. As Seth put it, "hello friend" and just like that they disappoint. At this point I don't even know why I am writing this except I can't help that Knicks is in my blood and my religion but this team just stinks. And when you see the "superstars" and especially the one who forced himself here in a hostage type situation, you just wanna back hand him in the mouth. To still have the nerves to smile during interviews after you get terrorized by sub-500 teams, one has to question their will and love to win. I am never shy about my insults and attacks against the 3 queens in Miami but I have been forced to swallow my words. They really have passion and care for winning. That was the ultimate reason they joined on one team.
Our guys are different on the famous other hand. They care about location, big stage and the opportunities of making money in the city. They are too busy enjoying the bright lights and making their money. When number 7 first arrived here and was bombarded with questions, I remember Berman telling him that many felt Knicks gave up too much in the trade and he wanted to see his response just as we all did naturally. I will never forget the response and he said something like "what GM wouldn't want me and Amare on the same roster" and I was kind of dumbfounded as I expected a little more intelligence and a better answer but then I realized I was kidding myself and dealing with someone that's not very bright other than in ways where it benefits him. Of course he is clever in the way he brought himself over here, gets his 21 million per, and gets to play in the city he and his wife wanted as they can be home and he can make more money off the court.
I think at this point most of us know the trade was horrible and the "big 3" thing didn't exactly work but it won't get fixed either because of the ownership. I do a lot of reading on here and other sites and I hear these 'trade ideas' and some actually make very much sense but then I keep reminding myself of the owner we have. The guy doesn't mind bad teams as he put up with it for many years and why would he suddenly change. He raised the price of tickets really quick and even before seeing if this team will play good and the two can coexist. MDA is a smart guy and is playing professional about it. He knows just as well as most people that the two can't play together. They are made for two different systems and only work together during all star games, and video games where it's all bullshit. Stever kerr was asked about this topic right before the trade happened and he said "not at all" in response two would it help the Knicks. He further stated that he didn't believe the two make a good fit and, boy, was he right. He was so right and Donnie knew and so did many others.
I wasn't against this character coming to this team but I was in favor of him waiting it out and joining via free agency but he didn't. He forced a trade and made a team gut its roster for him. I didn't even wanna lose Chandler in the trade but was told it was inevitable either way so I could live with the original trade proposal where it was Chandler, Eddie curry expiring contract, first round draft pick and Anthony Randolph. But then I came home from work and saw how far it had gotten and I was done at that point. My brother called me at work and I had a feeling it had to be significant as he didn't rather text or wait. I heard his message and he told me something like "boner alert bro" "the knicks just got carmelo and chauncey" and the only thing I wanted to know was who we lost., When I seen who all had to go, I was kinda in a state of confusion.
It's hard to describe and weird when you realize your team just got a player like number 7 yet you are not jumping up and down about it. It wasn't like the day when we signed Chris Childs, Allan Houston and turned around and traded for larry Johnson. When I seen that on the bottom of ESPN, I was jumping up down; screaming and all that. This time it was not the same as something was just wrong and now I know what it was. My team just ruined and wasted another 4 or 5 years and lost the youth we had along with the cap space. I have already lost my joy and don't expect much. I have already been bold enough to say this team will not be good and I don't care if I am wrong as I can face being wrong. This team is shitty and not fun at all. I get sick just looking at some of the players and I have my reasons. I am so sick of fooling myself with 'next game" and then again "next game' but it's just the same thing again. We may have name brand players on our roster but we are the most boring team and play the ugliest basketball I have seen in a long time. I watch other teams and then say to myself that we can't do what this player just did or what that player just did. It sucks as we have to put up with it and we, as fans, care more then some of the players do. I have no respect for the guy who proclaims himself the leader right now and I only enjoy Shumpert, Jorts, Fields, Billy and a few others. I have more respect for JJ at this point because the man plays with his everything and really tries.
Last but not least, I know Tyson has to be laughing to himself as this someone calls himself the: leader of this team, and one has to wonder what he has achieved to claim this title. If anything it should be Chandler and then Baron if he ever eve plays again. I am not even optimistic about him anymore and I been a huge fan of his since back at college. The man is 32 now, injured and has lost a step or two. What can he do at this point? even if all goes well and he returns, can he play 48 minutes? Can he even play 35 minutes, and how long before he can even do that? This team should still have a winning record when you have two good scorers like that but it always goes back two the flawed roster we have and these two can't play together. They don't fit and I have accepted it. It's hard and frustrating but i have accepted it. Because I am a knicks fan and hate humiliation, I just hope the 3 queens in Miami have mercy on us and don't beat us too bad. It's not too late for Amare to beg for forgiveness and do a little ass kissing. He can beg Bosh(whose faVe color is pink) for forgiveness and mercy. It's not too late and I hope he does or else it will be an embarrassment. Someone who can't read between the lines may assume that I am rooting for the Heat but nothing could be more false than that. I enjoy seeing them lose, cry and panic but I smell a loss because I have seen this team not respond to Jennings and others. Our 'leader' or two leaders don't seem to have dignity as he calls every scrub "phenomenal" after a loss. Hey, anyone remember Diaw, the guy who had two big games against us, the same dude who had 28 points on 15 shots and only missed thrice? He has not scored even near that since that game or even before.
The guy is a scrub and unheard of. Gallo, whom most would consider a decent player and many would not even think of in the same league with superstars, had his career high against us on less shots than our stars . he had same amount of points as our stars combined and now he is suddenly a "great player" according to Amare, but that was the same guy who was complaining and wanting 'help" from another superstar and requested for his best friend, number 7, to come here and help him. I almost feel sorry for Amare until I remember that he wanted the trade so now he got his other superstar in NY. I also hope Eddie will not beat us too bad even though we deserve it. This whole process was a cluster fuck from the start. From the trade, to lockout and now no point guard, it was all a fuck up for this team.
