All for K-Mart?
Reports are stating that Kenyon Martin will be making his decision next week on which team to join. The Heat, Knicks, Hawks, Clippers, and Spurs are all after him. The most any one of these teams can offer is the 2.5 exception.
I wasn't a big fan of having him come to NY a couple of weeks ago, but now it doesn't look like he would hurt us. He would bring toughness and defense of the bench at the least. Also, Amare and/or Chandler have been getting into foul trouble early so he would get ample playing time. And he could become more valuable than we can imagine if Amare was to go down with an injury. I think there's a realistic chance we can get him
From earlier posts it looks like most were iffy about K-Mart, but now I would think were all in for it. Right?

The Heat don't have the room exception
the most they can offer is vet’s minimum
I know I never said they did
I said the most any one of the teams can offer is room exception
We need Kenyon.
He ain’t coming so let’s stop all this nonsense. Put yourself in Kenyon’s shoes, if you had the option to be paid the same for 5 different teams why would he come to the team with the most problems? That’s dumb…Then again maybe he will join us, whatevs.
In Donnie we trust.
Well
Miami cant offer as much money. Besides the spurs he would probably get the most playing time here. Hes friends with melo. Lastly, you have to understand some players dont care about winning. Im sure he would love to live in NY.

thats the winning attitude
right there.
I think it was Bobby V who said: "You are never as good as you are when you are at your best, and you are not as bad as when you are at your worst."
Besides after Dolan is done trading Amare for Elton Brand's dead Body Martin will be starting!
Hell Yeah, He’ll be here. maybe we can get Melo on of those extension wigs with the beads on it and beofre Martin’s first game He and Melo can lead the Garden in a rendition of the Peaches and Herb hit “Reunited and it feels so good!” Besides he has to come here. He gets his weed from Humpty!

of all the chinamen (sorry, y'all know what i mean and... no disrespect to jeremy)...
i’d put JR first, wilson second, kmart third and brooks 4th (just don’t love his game).
and i’d be pleased with anyone.
i would switch wil and jr
but yeah. about right.

We might be better off without the whole damn group
Denver is the number 2 seed in the West right now, and not only did they get rid of Melo they don’t have any of those dudes either. Can we say addition by subtraction?

we can also say one mans trash is another mans...
locker room killer?
fair point, but with 3 slots taking up all our salary, we have to look wherever we can for available talent.

agree
we def need some more crazies on this team. although if there is any possible way we could have will back I would have to take him over the other two.
haha you guys really want jr smith.
you will see what i mean if he comes. he will get in a lot of trouble in NY. Plus he’ll be close to home (Newark) where nothing good happens
outstanding, than the backpage will have his mugshot...
rather than a clever headline illustrating another ugly loss.

JR is the same as AL Buckets Harrington
the only difference is he is younger, shorter, has more tats, and is a douchebag! Al Harrington is a very nice person, even if I do not ever want him anywhere near my basketball team again!

If you asked me a month ago, I’d so fuck no.
Now? Yeah, why not,
"Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."
LET'S GO RANGERS!!!
yes
accumulate more shit to throw at the wall and hope it sticks.
Last night, a comedian died in New York. Somebody knows why. Somebody knows
Thanks for bolding the important parts.

I don't think we need another bricklayer
plus it looks like he has slowed down. I think he could turn into one of those take the money and run guys.
Wil would be my first choice but I know we can’t afford him.
Dump Melo
If that doesn't work dump Pringles
What is another frontcourt player going to do for the Knicks?
Look i like Kenyon Martin. Always have. Yes he plays tough basketball.
But what the Knicks overwhelmingly need is a playmaker. A passer who can run the offense and keep Melo and Amare from crowding each other.
Kenyon Martin only crowds the frontcourt further since he will play the post or try to shoot baseline jumpers. That’s what Amare and Tyson and Melo do.
He plays good defense. Well. That’s good and all, but the Knicks’ defense is fine, It’s our offense that is not clicking. No sense in throwing money at Kenyon Martin if he is likely just a redundancy on this roster. The Knicks have other needs.
"Madison Square Garden is the ultimate basketball stage. That's where I belong. That's where I live. That's the home of the New York Knicks." - Amar'e Stoudemire

exactly
surprisingly our defense is not the problem, we need a point guard that can pass and we need a stretch 4, a shawne williams-type player…or a legit skilled backup center
…..maybe luke rindour gets bought out or something idk but kenyon martin is not what we need right now especially with his intermittent ugly mid range jumpshots…
im not hopeless anymore i just dont know how to change my name
