One good thing that comes from this

MDA and the team must be pissed. And anybody who doesn’t see that probably isn’t watching the game. They’re pissed and they know they’ve sucked.

Good

Maybe the Knicks just need to have a big lockerroom brawl amongst themselves, and work all this crap outta their systems.

Then they’ll come together and it’ll be like… (insert cliche sports movie here)

Thanks for making us a contender, Donnie.

You will notice that the Bobcats do not get soaking wet against any other teams.

Even the game where they pushed Miami to the limit was more of a grind-it-out affair.

by chris-9999 on Jan 4, 2012 9:58 PM EST reply actions

Well

Henderson hit a couple of just ridiculous shots there, and he’s really not ever been good enough to do that. I didn’t see much of the game, but I saw Diaw execute a slow ass spin and go right by Amar’e. WTF was that? I think that Amar’e and Carmelo have a lot to learn about defense. And I’m starting to wonder whether Toney’s ever going to look like a good defender ever again.

Oh well. It was their night and the Knicks D sucked tonight. But they did score 110 points.

Toney is playing poorly, but don’t confuse that with being a poor player. One need only look to last season to see that Toney has both potential and ability.

Exactly. Melo and Amare, that is all. If they’d dominate like they are supposed to, then Toney would probably bust out his funk and play decent if not better than.

Please play Landry and TD less

They should have gone instead of DANILO GALLLINARRRRI. It’s all Spike Lee’s fault. TD and Amar’e are truly atrocious at D. It’s amazing that TD was defensive player of the year in college. He must have been playing in a senior rec league.

by mindfeck on Jan 4, 2012 10:02 PM EST reply actions

Yeah

Is Toney’s D really this bad, or is this some illusion caused by the defensive dopeyness of Amar’e and Carmelo? I wonder whether a lineup can withstand being 2/5ths dopey on defense.

But without P&T to BS with these games over the past few years would be unbearable. P&T takes the edge off. I look forward to the days of hootin and hollerin over wins. They’re coming I swear. But I find by apathy towards Amar’e’s D getting pretty damn close to maddening. I have to agree with Mindfeck on Landry, too. He starts games well but has a very bad and growing habit of fading. Not good. Shumpert fits like a glove here. The dude needs to get a 100% and we need his moxy and penetrating O.

The line in the sand is game 20

I’m not going to get upset and call for D’Antoni to be fired or for any player to be benched until then.

These guys are all playing tentative. It starts with Toney, but he’s in over his head – we all love him, but we also know he’s not a starting-caliber PG. Someone on this team needs to decide that it doesn’t matter what the other guys do, he’s going to play well, get people involved, and also take some of the scoring burden by taking smart shots.

Also, the switching on defense is killing the team. I liked when the team went to the zone. Charlotte still scored but at least we made it hard for them, they were just on too much of a roll.

I’m disappointed as hell in this team. I cant bear to watch the postgame interviews.

Melo has done it at times. We’ve seen it from Amare last year.

Because of the Nazis over at MSG / Time Warner.

But judging by the box score and the game thread, it is apparent that Shump has become our best guard. His shot was going in I’m guessing, but can anyone tell me how he was moving around? Did it look like he was fully healed?

Also, Baron please get well soon.

Novak and Jorts gave more effort than anyone in the past few games. Amare should have been forced to sit and watch them for at least a few minutes when everyone was making him look like a senior citizen.

I know this looked awful

But the Bobcats shot 7-11 from three, 55 percent from the floor overall. I know that the Knicks crappy D had a lot to do with that, but they also got uncharacteristically red-hot.

We won the rebounding battle. Shump shot 6-10 from the field and 4-6 from three. Amar’e hit more shots than he missed and pulled down 12 rebounds and only turned the ball over once.

by moose35 on Jan 4, 2012 10:17 PM EST up reply actions

Better kind of loss?

Losing to Charlotte was pretty horrible. The non-existent defense (and utter lack of interest in that half of the game) is pretty much inexcusable.

But still… look at the improvement on offense: better ball movement, better attempt to run purposeful plays, better shot selection (usually), and better Shumpert. That all led to better FG% (49.4%) and, ultimately, better scoring (>100 for once).

The Knicks offense still has a lot of room for improvement, but at least we now know what it can look like. The Knicks defense? Well, that’s at least a familiar problem.

by sisterray24 on Jan 4, 2012 10:15 PM EST reply actions

Right, but our defense is worse than their offense

I just liked that there was some flow and purposefulness in our offense.
Oh, and I also liked everything about Shumpert.

by Mikel L on Jan 4, 2012 10:20 PM EST up reply actions

This is where I pray Baron has the tank and healthy back to be what we hope him to be. He and Shump

Have the penetrating O and occasional 3 prowess to really open things up and hopefully alleviate the amount of iso’s that stagnate the O. Shumpert looks great in the O and is very good on D.

Did this dude just did this?

by Rubbercons on Jan 4, 2012 10:18 PM EST reply actions

Really Pathetic...

Not really sure where to start.

Amare has lost his game completely.Missed all those mid range jumpers he was hitting left and right last year. Plus really feel he’s not showing any leadership whatsoever. I think he lifted too many weights in the off season and didn’t play enough basketball in his $45000000.00 mansion. He needs to get the ball down low, that’s the only way he can score. He needs to up his energy and become the Amare we saw early last season, I feel like he’s taken a backseat with Melo in town and that needs to change.

Carmelo is Carmelo and really is 70% of our scoring most games. He’s not a leader though. He’s selfish. That’s Melo

Shumpert is maybe the one bright spot. Lots o potential there. That’s good.

Landry is tentative, mediocre, and has been making some of the worst passes I’ve ever seen.

TD is not DWTDD….at all.

Tyson Chandler has been SOOOOOOO Underwhelming. Except for a couple of cute Alley Oops I almost forgot he was playing. Was he there on Defense? I really think that labeling him part of any “big three” is being presumptuous. Maybe he’ll start doing something. Or maybe he’s trying to do too much on D and it’s making his efforts futile.

The bench was way better this game if only because Mike Bibby didn’t stand up. Jorts had a couple decent minutes and Humpty was ok sporatically.

Anyway. I’m hoping this comes together. Losing to Toronto and Charlotte at home in 3 days sucks. Not going to panic yet but I may if we lose to the Wizards.

Agree on everything

But Carmelo and Chandler. Carmelo not a leader? Seriously? The guy’s been putting the team on his back for the past couple of games, especially in the 4th quarters. Remember the Celtic’s game?

Chandler’s also been quite good on defense. We knew he wasn’t Shaq on offense. He’s a very good defensive player playing on a terrible, terrible defensive team.

Yeah. I regretted my Melo comment as soon as I posted...

You’re right. He’s leading. I realize he wants it more than anyone else including Amare. My thought more appropriately articulated would be that he’s an iso player and he’s not a natural distributor and that can put the brakes on things. I realize he’s been passing well etc. I just don’t feel like there’s anyone that’s really making everyone feel accountable out on the floor. Amare did that last season. Maybe there’s a problem with the coaching staff not pushing hard enough. I’m just not feeling the urgency at all.

I kind of agree on Chandler but I just feel like he disappears on both ends of the floor. Maybe he’s trying to do too much on D and his O just isn’t too good. I mean I saw flashes of brillance that could be amazing with a great ditributor like Baron but we have to wait and see.

by The Monsieur on Jan 4, 2012 10:28 PM EST up reply actions

exactly.

never had a real training camp to implement Melo after the midseason trade. Lots of new players, a new “defensive” coach. Team has absolutely zero chemistry. And a short season without a lot of practice time is going to kill the chances to work those things out.

by ToshiroMifune on Jan 4, 2012 10:30 PM EST up reply actions

every team is unique

we still got lots of holes and made big moves that would require time to adjust under normal circumstances let alone a shortened season.

lost Billups, now we’re tryna turn Melo into a distributor overnight. Chandler now occupying space on the floor which last year would be freed up. New defensive schemes from a new defensive coach(which aren’t working right now) but all that stuff needs time to sort out. More holes need more time, which we don’t have.

That doesn’t mean taking L’s is acceptable but these guys are gonna just have to work harder.

One thing that is very alarming is Amar'e's lack of D, the boards were there

But we’re consistently bad at defending 2nd chances and get caught sleeping alot in the paint. Amar’e seems very immobile on D, but shows explosion on O. We need to see the effort from him. Maybe that extra muscle wasn’t such a good idea

by screamedia on Jan 4, 2012 10:41 PM EST up reply actions

No one is ever gonna mistake Amare for a lock down defender

but the defense as a whole looks terrible, once the team defense comes together and the team learns to trust each other and all this damn switching stops…Amare will still be bad but he’ll at least look decent with the team defense holding up.

by mrluck35 on Jan 4, 2012 10:28 PM EST reply actions

True, but defense isn't a 6 min kind of thing

The Knicks can’t keep thinking that they can play part-time defense, showing up on that half of the court “when it counts”. The key to defense is making a habit out of it. The Knicks have not committed to making a habit out of it, and that’s why they can’t find any defensive breaks “when it counts”.

by Joamiq on Jan 4, 2012 11:06 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah but Landry does this every game

Walker has had a good +/- for a while, but I think it’s more than people he plays with and against. And he shoots well. His boneheadedness make him seem worse than he is.

This is Melo Ball

Yeah, ok, so we’ve been hearing how things are going to “turn around and come together” since the second game after the Melo trade, This act played itself out in Denver, and an entire city, not to mention his own coach, rejoiced after he was gone.

Newsflash – The D’s never coming consistently. Melo and Amare don’t have the heart or the motivation to play it every game for a whole season. “Hey, we lost, where’s the next fashion show this week?”

I hate what the Knicks have become. We have no depth because we max’ed out Melo and gave up all of our young potential for him. Felton’s making Aldrige an early MVP candidate.

Only Amare can make Diaw look like Lebron. Melo’s a damn black hole. The ball goes in and it never comes out. Point forward, run it thru Melo – that’s a delusional pipedream.
Just like he sometimes will play tough D, he sometimes throw a nice pass. Sometimes.

Since the Melo trade, Amare went from MVP chants to “WTF was that?” Since the Melo trade, there have been a ton of games where we lose to the non-playoff teams. TD’s our PG? Why? Because we traded our whole team at the time forrrrr – Melo.

So now, quite pathetically actually, our whole damn season rides on BDiddy coming back healthy and playing like the 2005 BDiddy?

Maybe this is as good as it gets with Melo Ball? Occassional flashes of brilliance, only against the teams with the big stars on it, with a constant capability of getting humiliated by the dregs of the NBA on any given night.

But, wait, it’s still early, I know …

because we won a reg season game against Miami last year? Oh, I see.

The fact that our team’s record was worse post-Melo, we got humiliated by the Celtics in the first round getting swept, and now being 2-4 this year are all Facts we should ignore?

Take the sunglasses off son, you’re blinded by the NBA’s Star marketing lights show. Melo’s second to third tier star, that’s it. He ain’t Lebron, he ain’t Wade, he ain’t Kobe in his prime, he’s maybe like a Barkley in his prime. Will end up with same amount of rings as him too.

we can feign nostalgia all we want over what we had, but the reality was we weren’t that great then. and the chances of that team becoming great, as compared to this team, wasn’t good at all.

I have to disagree with your premise

If talent was what won in this league, Dallas wouldn’t be the defending champs. Not that they lacked talent, but there are certainly teams that were more talented on paper. Dallas defended and attacked as a team. That’s why they won. Not because of talent.

by Joamiq on Jan 5, 2012 12:00 AM EST up reply actions   2 recs

i understand what your saying altho Dallas certainly didn't lack talent

Dirk may go down as a top 3 PF of all time, that’s something i don’t think any of us imagined anybody on last years knicks team can claim at any point in there career. i mean, even the biggest Gallo supporters among us see him at his best as a 20 point scorer, with great range, and can grab a few boards. that’s not enough.

and yes, Dallas did beat a team with better talent, but that’s certainly not the rule of thumb if you look at the past champs before them: the lake show twice, boston, the spurs, a Dwayne Wade/Shaq led Heat, Spurs, Pistons, Spurs, and Lakers 3 times. The Pistons were the exception to the rule, other than that you have extremely talented teams. Hell, Boston couldn’t sniff the Finals till they made similar trades and moves to acquire 2 future HOF to surround there perennial all star. before that, they had nice talent around Pierce, but just enough to get them into the dance, and be out of it after one or two songs.

And the Spurs are deeper than we give them credit for as well. Manu, Duncan, Parker…these guys are good solid players.

the problem is not with the moves we’ve made to acquire talent, the problem is does this talent believe in playing enough D to be in that upper echelon? and does their leader believe in it? that’s the difference. until we replace pringles, or he wakes up and has an epiphany as to truly win games when they matter, then we won’t be what we know we can be.

but the same would have been said if we still had Chandler and Gallo and Felton around.

This ain't NBA 2K11

That was our lineup then, would it be the same today without acquiring Melo? No. We could have Deron Williams or Chris Paul with STAT. Better fit? I think so.

Maybe we would’ve made a strong play at Howard? Why did it have to be Melo for our whole squad last year?

You don’t build a Championship team like a fantasy league team. The Giants, the Cardinals, the Packers – look around, they’re not a collection of great stats players. They are all great teams though because all the pieces fit.

We were on the right path and Donnie Walsh knew it. He did not want to trade Felton, because he was a really good NY-style PG and he knew it. Dolan forced him to make the final trade.

Lots of Knicks fans will tell you the last time they really enjoyed watching a Knicks game was pre-Melo. Was that team great? No. Were they coming together as a team? Absolutely. Did they need more pieces? Yes, they were a work in progress.

Melo needs to change his whole mindset of how a team becomes great. I could care less if he drops 40 if we lose. He needs to feel the same way.

Tina – “How’s the lockerroom tonight after a really bad loss?”

Melo – “Oh, we’re cool … uhhhh, I mean, yeah we know …”

That’s Melo and unless he changes his spots, buckles down and plays hard every night on D against all the teams in the NBA, looks to make his teammates better, focuses only on winning a championship not on his stats, and acts like a true leader holding everyone accountable, will I come around and accept this guy as a true star.

by irishnyer on Jan 5, 2012 12:21 AM EST up reply actions

u forget the pre-melo team flat-lined after that hot 10 game winning streak. Melo gives this team that 2nd star.

You need two dominant scorers, paint defense and timely outside shooting to win a championship. This team has those pieces. pre-melo team didnt. This team needs 20 games and baron davis to gel and develop into an unstoppable force. At least thats what Chandler said the other day. Don’t be a shortsighted fan masquerading as a farsighted fan.

by bababooey2 on Jan 5, 2012 12:31 AM EST up reply actions

see i don't understand the contingent who looks back to that team we had last year

you love it, you wax poetically about it, yet, you’d be willing to trade it for deron, CP3, and Dwight. i’m confused. did you want them to grow together, and gel and become a great team around STAT, or did you just want to trade them for another star, not named Melo?

i’m not trying to start an argument either, i’m seriously asking, is it the player that you have the problem with, or the way we got him, or the fact that we went all out for another star? because at times i read the anti Melo crowd stuff and see alot of talking out of both sides of mouths. “We love Gallo, (Wil)Chandler, Felt and Moz, and should’ve let them grow together as a team. or traded them for Dwight and Paul.”

which one is it? that’s a confusing platform.

here’s how i see it. before last offseason, we were looking at a lineup of over the hill players with expiring contracts, surrounding some nice young talent we drafted. and another season of 30 wins.

in 2 years, we have arguably 2 of the top 10 players in the game, a true center(whens the last time we could actually say that) and hopefully in a few weeks, a true PG to run the whole thing. i’ll say it again – give me that lineup 100/100 times. easy.

I’ll give you that, I just interpret it differently. I don’t think he’s falling off, I think a great player had two really exceptional seasons and is now performing closer to his standard average which is already great to begin with.

Melo and Durant are both great players, who have the same exact def rating, similar usage, run the same iso’s, take the same tough shots yet because of their personalities and peoples perceptions of them they are often separated with Durant on a pedestal and melo relegated to a “tier3 star”

Hopefully the Knicks can right their wrongs and turn this shit around. As of right now, this team as it stands is not listening to the collective unconscience of all Knicks fans.

Did this dude just did this?

by Rubbercons on Jan 5, 2012 12:26 AM EST up reply actions

it's not a ridiculous complaint

Before the all star break last season, the Knicks were 28-26. Since the all star break (excluding playoffs), the Knicks are 16-18. For a comparable sample size, in the first 34 games of last season, the Knicks were 20-14. Now, obviously record doesn’t tell the whole story (I’m too lazy to compare other stats from before and after), but it’s not crazy to say that the Knicks were a more successful basketball team before the trade.

Obviously Anthony is the most talented player on the team, but when you’ve gutted the squad and are resorting to giving meaningful PT to rookies and guys who should be coming off the bench, it doesn’t matter that Melo will put up 30 points a game.

Like I said above, I hope they figure it out, but it’s going to take time and so far D’Antoni doesn’t seem like the guy to do it.

No one knows what will and won’t work until the season plays out. If you tell me you know exactly how Melo and Amare are gonna play off of each other next week and how the team will respond and perform against their next opponents then you are a psychic who needs to quit school and your day job only to start spending your days at the race track.
So please everyone lets now stop with this

“but…but…Amare and Melo will never work together! Trade one of them now! Doom is ahead! Deh future is in deh cards deh mon!”

Dantoni doesn’t even know if it’ll work, so I find it hard to rely upon your certainty unless you moonlight as a NBA coach with a positive winning percentage.

Speaking of Dantoni, I don’t even like the dude. Not my first choice for coach at. all. But he’s here now and is the best choice at the moment. That is something we just gotta take on the chin. Be unhappy about it if you like but any candidate who replaces him will be worse unless Dolan writes Phil Jackson a contract that includes him getting a personalized hummer and rim job from Dolan himself in the MSG steam room.

Melo/Amare is as much of a black hole as Bryant/Durant/Wade take your pick. And even if he is a bigger ball hog than any of those guys, we don’t have assets to trade for anyone you might think is better. Deal with it.

Yes the team is a mess and yes you should be upset but snap judgements and critiques won’t make it any better. The team sucks right now. We all know. We’re watching the same games. This aint all on Melo nor his contract and if you think otherwise you aren’t watching hard enough, though I couldn’t blame you.

i can understand your frustration but the rest is off.

Where was the “coach” when Denver got beat by the Thunder? All that ‘depth" and it did them no good when it counted because nobody wins rings with nothing but role players. Sta has never been a good defender and it’s not a secret. Your point? Didn’t we know that when we gave him the 100 million? The old team had depth but what were they doing? I agree we gave up a lot, but you’re being fooled and you’re wrong on a lot of this. Felton had one good month and it came against sorry teams only. He never did good against the Celtics, Heat, etc. Stat was hearing early MVP chants because he was the only guy on the team and doing everything. He had a period where he scored something like 30 ppg in 8 straight games but that ended quickly.

I think you forgot how inconsistent we were even before the trade. I disagree with how the Melo trade went down but he(melo) has actually been our best player and actually tries. If anyone doesn’t seem to care, it’s stat. He getting his 100 million and is making money off the court.

I hate what the Knicks have become so far too but that’s how it is. We have inconsistent role players, had no training camp, preseason and added new players. Look at the Mavs and how they’re struggling also and that’s because they lost players, and added new players. It takes time and especially when you bring in stars and new players and try to become a defensive team. I am angry too and hate this but I don’t blame Melo for it. It’s not his fault that Stat can’t make his jumpers anymore or that Fields can’t play how he did early last season.

Last but not least, any MDA team needs a good pg and that’s where Baron comes into the picture. stat also needs a pg who can get him the ball where he is at best. Nevertheless, I do agree about how Stat makes lames look like beasts and the sad part about it is Diaw will never see 100 million nor will Brandon, Bass or Hansbrough but this what stat does. He made Lamar Odom look like a superstar during the playoffs in 2010 when he allowed him to get all them offensive boards. It’s frustrating but I can’t blame this on Melo nor the coach.

Don't forget though, we started 3-8 last year

We should never be losing to teams like Golden State, Toronto, and Charlotte but there’s still hope.

Has anyone heard D'antoni say the word "Defense" this year?

Everytime he is asked that something is wrong he says that the shots aren’t falling. Newsflash: You can win scoring less than 120 points. You can win scoring less than 110 points. You can win scoring less than 100 points. IF you play defense — something D’antoni doesn’t appear to hold players accountable for or value (See Harrelson’s 3 minutes). I give him another month of this crash and burn scheme before he gets yanked.

Were you listening to the sound bites from his timeouts? MDA owes the media nothing

They’ll spin it any way they want, forgetting that Amar’e could have been bolted down at the elbow and would’ve probably looked better on D.

i have watched every post game interview and he mentions defense every time

but he is right about the shots. You still got to score in order to win. Good defense and good offense. We are not a good defensive team, but then again, we haven’t been one since this dark age began after the Ewing era. I agree that you win with defense but there are players who aren’t good at it(Stat is one of them).

Amare I'm bout done with you.

He made Bryon Mullens look like a freaking AllStar!! BRYON MULLENS! He got absolutely schooled by Fatty Boris Diaw, & just doesn’t give a dam about D.

It hurts saying this about the person who brought this franchise back from the dead but its true.

it’s not hard to bring a franchise back when you getting 100 million. The truth is that Stat is not a good defender and only good offensively and that too in certain systems. This is why Miami picked Bosh over him. That’s why Cavs didn’t want to give up too much for him and ended up getting washed up Jamison instead. He has made many and many scrubs look like superstars and not just in NY. we were desperate after 10 horrible years and that’s why Stat appears like a savior but if he had gotten the same money elsewhere he probably wouldn’t even come, but then again, NYC is great and lot’s money making opportunities for people like him so, of course, he chose NY.

I don’t view him as a savior nor do I think he is better than many players who make less than him. He will never be like Ewing who was treated without respect by this franchise, and if i could remain a Knicks fan for all these years after Ewing, I can be one even without Stat. I honestly think the team we had with Zach, JC and MDA as head coach would have been special. It was a deep roster and with a good coach. we started off 8-3 and then abolished it to get Lebron James and Bosh two years later. As you know now, it’s history and Lebron was never coming here and I never believed it. I will root for the Knicks because it goes back 20 years and it’s by heart, but i will not be fooled by stat coming here.

Reminder: The following people were on the knicks team that started 3-11 last year: Douglas, Fields, Stoudemire, Bill Walker. Oh and D’antoni.

by erniesto on Jan 4, 2012 11:45 PM EST up reply actions

they were 3-8

not 3-11 and then we went on a streak which lasted for about a month, but all against sorry teams or okay teams. Oh wait, we did manage to beat a Denver team with a “melodrama” in their locker room and the Hornets without David West. we got stomped by Miami and were inconsistent even before the Melo trade. It’s the past and we can’t do nothing about it. I am angry. depressed and sad but what can we do? We wanted to copy the Heat with their “big 3” and then Dolan also wanted to increase tickets and what better way than by getting big names and jamming them together.

by RASHADI on Jan 5, 2012 3:12 AM EST up reply actions

i agree with this

They will need about a month. Remember where we had a rough stretch after the trade and Billups went out? We then went on a winning streak again and finished 42-40. They will need a month at least and these games are like practice right now, but except they count toward our record. This is preseason and learning right now. It is frustrating and hard to remain patient but that’s the key. The heat weren’t looking so sharp at first and then had another collapse in the middle of the season and were even “crying their eyes out” in the locker room. Our players aren’t crying and Carmelo and everyone seems calm and confident. It is those of us from outside who are angry and critical and we have a right to be as fans but we gotta remind ourselves that it has only been 6 games with no time to get together and gel. We also had new players and trying to become defensive minded.

We went 3-8 last year before winning 13 of 14 games

And we lost to some equally shitty teams. Granted, this team is much more talented, but there hasn’t been NBA basketball in 7 months. I’m not making excuses because this lost disgusted me just as much as anyone, but I can’t say I’m totally shocked at this start.

Likewise, we’re the New York Knicks, and a bunch of people were hollering about championships and what not… teams are gonna get up to play us and beat us. Just like each year some shitty teams shock the Lakers and Celtics, and last year everyone tried super hard against the Miami Heat.

I will say this, and I am a D’Antoni supporter, but this team shows signs of being a team that’s blocking out their head coach. I agree with the whole 20-game mark thing, but it’s definitely something to watch. A coach can’t make the players run an offense or play defense, but players usually want to for their coach. This team shows stretches of not looking like NBA players

indeed

it’s NYC, MSG and the big stage. You have superstars and celebrities in the crowd so every scrub in the NBA will bring his best game when they play us. same thing with Miami last year because of the 3 queens. This is what happens when you bring a bunch of stars together and other teams will try harder to beat you. Dallas was smart by avoiding that headache but instead stuck with one great player and surround him with veterans, good players, and a deep roster. I agree with you.

I was just watching the Rockets vs. LAC game

and I just teared….
Kyle Lowry was the only player really playing defense on that team and have been carrying the team on his back. If only TD can be a little like him…
