I can tell this already. Lin looks like he will have a slow start in Houston and he should have stayed under the bright lights of New York.
The Knicks look crisp and Felton looks pretty fast. The one thing that might hurt the Knicks:
Stat doesn't fit with Chandler or Melo. The reason Chandler is scoring is because he's not crowded out in the paint. He can roam around and do his thing down there without Amare getting in the way. This is why Chandler was so effective with Dirk. Dirk played outside of the paint and he shot jumpers and 3 pointers and Dirk and Tyson gave each other space.
With Melo, Stat slows his game down and then it's not as fluid.
I would like to see Felton and Kidd starting at the 1 and 2. They did this with J.J. Barea and Kidd in Dallas and it worked well. The starting 5 should be:
I like J.R. Smith and Novak coming off of the bench and adding a spark. Copeland can score and Chandler can roam down low.
I hope I'm wrong and Stat comes back as strong as ever. The Knicks could be really good this season.
