Joe Camporeale-US PRESSWIRE
The Knicks took the first of a back-to-back against the Sixers in New York.
No letdown! After spanking the Heat on Friday, the Knicks showed up early for their matinee against the Sixers. They rotated beautifully on defense from tip-off and got a well-rounded outing from Carmelo Anthony and a big bench contribution from J.R. Smith (plus more excellent shooting, at least in the first half) to beat Philly pretty easily. It might've been an even bigger victory if Jrue Holiday didn't pull his usual three-point shooting antics to keep New York honest. (I say "keep New York honest", but Mike Woodson obliged "RA-SHEED WALLACE" chants with like four minutes left and the Sixers still within 11. Whatever!).
But yeah, I quite like these slowed-down, defensively focused, ball-movin' Knicks we've seen in these first two games. Not only have they looked sharp, they've done it consistently. That's two wire-to-wire wins now without much of a threat from either victim.
I'll have a full recap up in a little while. Enjoy your afternoons/afterwins!
