Updates from Knicks-Nets Shootaround

Stay connected for news and updates

Debby Wong-US PRESSWIRE

Brook Lopez won't play for Brooklyn.

Good day! The Knicks and the Nets have a basketball game scheduled for tonight (but only after they do their homework). Thanks to geographic proximity, the teams got to have shootarounds at their respective practice facilities, and we've got a few updates from the reporters in attendance.

Update #1 is that Brook Lopez, who practiced in full yesterday and sounded likely to return for Brooklyn tonight will, in fact, not play. The Nets are 1-4 without him, so at least hypothetically, that's good news. The Nets will go with the same lineup they used over the weekend with Andray Blatche and the insufferable Reggie Evans in the frontcourt and Kris Humphries coming off the bench. It'll be interesting to see how Mike Woodson matches that, since Carmelo Anthony on Evans is an unusual match-up and one that might end with Melo getting his stitches gnawed out/kicked in the ribs/elbowed in the vas deferens/fleas.

Meanwhile, New York's injury update is that Rasheed Wallace, who missed the last game with a sore foot, is listed as probable for tonight. Mike Woodson expects him to play.

That's the news from this morning. I'll update if there's anything more. Y'all eating any good lunches? Wanna trade?
