The Knicks face the Cavs in New York without Carmelo Anthony.
COPELANDIAAAAAAAAA!!! The Knicks and Cavaliers play basketball soon. The Knicks will play without Carmelo Anthony and Rasheed Wallace. Chris Copeland will start at power forward in Melo's stead! For the Cavs, Dion Waiters will sit but Kyrie Irving will start despite a fractured jaw, joining Cleveland's masked ranks.
We've already discussed how, given New York's recent historic ineptitude against Cleveland and their current Melolessness, this looks like a potential trap game. I fear the Knicks' first home loss tonight, but hopefully they can overcome a likely disadvantage on the glass with the appropriate dominance in other regards, even without their leading man.
Regarding the rebounds: I love the addition of Copeland into the offense of the first unit. His shooting and rolling abilities should help keep the ball moving sans Melo in a way Kurt Thomas's presence might not. Cope's gonna have his work cut out for him, though, in helping Tyson Chandler keep the Cavs off the glass. Tonight's one of those nights in which the guards really need to hang back and lend a hand to limit Cleveland's second opportunities.
Cool. Tip-off is at 7:30. Comment here if you're watching along and check out the splendid Fear the Sword as well. Please don't post large photos, .gifs, or links to illegal streams in the thread. Get that 10-0, Knicks.
