Last night he was asked if he had seen what Lin had been doing
And said he had no idea who the reporter was talking about. He was asked if he would guard Lin if Lin started going off again and he said something like “Let’s not get crazy here”.
You know Kobe know who he is now!!!!
Because Kobe’s face is cracked and on the ground. LOL

hidden in all this...our defense is playing lights out .
although we haven’t played against good offense. nets jazz and wiz. and surprisingly the Lakers all have bad offenses

He's the same coach
we’re just playing better now and we also seem to have a legitimate PG. Anything else was just overreaction.
Consider the very sincere praise he heaped on Jefferies who happens to be one of the most ineffective offensive players ever. A coach that cares only about jacking up threes and ignores defense just doesn’t do that or show that type of heart felt appreciation.
Dantoni is faaaar from perfect but this NY thing we do where we tear down our players and coaches has dudes making wild declarations, talking crazy talk and all other types of assorted bull shit.

I REALLY like a Lin/Shump/Fields backcourt now that they've all figured things out.
Just need to find one more guy and that’s legit.
Just one more rebound
And he would have had a double tonight!
Lin has it figured out
others still inconsistent
2012 New York Mets, World Series Champions!
I like that backcourt too
but I wouldn’t say that they have it all figured out yet. Shump especially is still learning.

JEREMY LIN Y'ALL
Three things though.
Free throws. Make ya damn free throws.
Someone reteach Fields how to shoot.
Why isn’t Douglas getting all of Bibby’s minutes?
Because TD would be hoisting up unnecessary shots, and we're playing well.

Knicks are gonna contend… I think more so than the Celtics…. assuming this all continues with Amare and Melo, about which I have very little doubt
lets hope man

Guys I don't know
I havent felt like this about this Knicks ever. I’m young so all I’ve seen are the bad years. Even when we were awesome early last year with STAT and the youn ‘uns the emotions weren’t anything like this.
I have tears in my eyes. It’s so beautiful.

Yeah. I'll give him that... he was amazing in the 4th
but he needs to settle down and realize that it’s more important that the ball goes in than that it looks good…
He's getting there
Shumpert was awesome in the fourth. The one downside of Linsanity is that people won’t notice but Shumpert was just as critical with his D on Kobe and drives at the end.

Both played well
Most of Kobe’s makes were those “What else can you do?” shots that he simply always makes.
GO CUSE, BLUE, AND EAGLES!
Yeah, Kobe gets about 10-20 points a game...
where it doesn’t matter who is on him, the shots are indefensible….
They both did pretty well
Landry got fooled by the shot fakes a couple of times though, while Shump was better at staying home. Goaded him into taking at least one bad 3. Still, both did an excellent job on him.

same mistake the announcers made
They’re 11th. Not first. 11th. Maybe they give up the fewest points, but that’s because they play really slow.
They actually limited him quite a bit
They really did a great job against the Lin-Chandler connection. But he still found ways to be effective. Hey, if he’s hitting his jumper, you can neither go over nor under the screen to try to stop him. He’s just unstoppable.

MDA needs to give Lin like 50% of his salary.
Lin saved his job
Tyson Chandler: Kung-Fu Knickerbocker
Yup
I know a lot of ppl are critisizing MDA on why he didn’t play him earlier but what they don’t understand is that Lin needed to understand MDA’s system before he could play. MDA wanted Lin to get a few practices under his belt before unleashing him
Tyson Chandler: Kung-Fu Knickerbocker
I don't get the people who claim he should have played him sooner
Almost everyone ever has completely passed Lin over, and MDA gets criticized for not playing him a few weeks earlier?
I still don't get how this is a reasonable criticism.
That’s a guy who had a good year for you last year, your first round draft pick, and a veteran (who MDA hasn’t played much this year anyway). Who wouldn’t give those guys a shot before the undrafted guy you picked up for depth? He tried those guys, they failed, and then he gave Lin a shot. What more was he supposed to do?
As one of the people who criticized MDA for not playing Lin sooner
I would like to point out that in limited minutes before he got his chance Lin had one of the highest PERs in the league. Something like 25. Meanwhile TD and Bibby were something around 2. I mean you could have wheeled a corpse out there and they would have done better. All we were asking(I wasn’t the only one) is that the guy be given a chance. After his triple double in D league he still didn’t enough of a chance.
Anway, it’s all good now. I’m happy, you’re happy, we are all happy.

Here’s Coach Nick’s take
That shows a distinct lack of character, and I think it’s why he gets hurt so many times. It’s because he doesn’t play as hard as he possibly can. Now I know it’s not scientific and nobody can ever prove me wrong or right, but when a guy doesn’t play as hard as he can, I think he’s a lot more prone to injury, and that goes to his character as well.

The Knicks just needed a PG to fully reap the system’s benefits

I wish I could find some way to stream the MSG postgame
Just so I could see all the slobbering Lin deserves

for his next trick
Jeremy Lin cures cancer! It is a game day though, so he’ll probably just do it during half time.

It's a good thing Houston cut Lin...
so they could sign Samuel Dalembert…..

And that the Warriors cut him in favor of Biedrins
in order to make an unsuccessful bid for DeAndre Jordan.
Lol even before Lin was doing well in NY Warrior fans were more than scratching their
heads about that one. Not only did we give up Lin to attempt to sign DeAndre Jordan but we also gave up Reggie Williams, instead of amnestying Biedrins large multi-year deal they amnestied the expiring contract of Charlie Bell.
BTW the Warriors make a lot of money, they sell out every game. The ownership doesn’t need to field a good team to make a ton of money. Clearly the ownership right now wants to field a competitive team yet they fail to make the clear and obvious moves they need to make. They constantly find good talent out of nowhere, yet they won’t even get rid of their big contracts to build around Curry, which they clearly should have done a few years ago.

amare and melo will definitely love playing with lin and put up points...
though will they bring the “feel goods” and effort elements like JJ and novak?… damn i hope so.
i can’t wait to see jorts and lin together… lin, shump, landry, jorts and tyson might be my favorite 5 ever!
revolutionary... LIN will single handedly douche the star-struck NBA

can you imagine him rockin’ the furs, pimped out rides, bling and cameo’ing in music videos? that’d be hilarious.

and tomorrow... rubio V lin... holy shit that's fresh...
screwbio! we got linja
Lin's two biggest cheerleaders?
1) D’Antoni – saved his job and proved his system just needs one heady PG.
2) Carmelo – will now be able to conserve so much energy not having to initiate the offense for everyone else.
I’m a Hornets fan and I’m crazy jealous that you guys picked him up for nothing. Here’s to hoping Lin can sustain his productivity and the Knicks challenging the Bulls/Heat in the playoffs.
Jeremy Lin is the BEST FUCKING PLAYER in the NBA!!!
I don’t even care about being rational anymore.
NO KYRIE IRVING IS :P
Fans can make you famous, a contract can make you rich, the press can make you a superstar, but only love can make you a player.

Lin is amazing......but
There were a few times in the game when he does too much dribbling and not seeing the open man because he is trying to create his shot. That is the only complaint that I see…and it is a small complaint. Either way, Jeremy Lin has us playing outstanding ball. Some of my fellow posters have said all along, once we get a decent point guard, the offense will flow.
"they" also said once melo is gone...

Lin’s gonna be REAL pissed when he’s setting up an awesome talent like Melo as opposed to Bibby or Walker

chemistry chemistry chemistry... i hope...
but LIN is a blue collar player, i hope he doesn’t miss “his” guys.
by bucketsncents on Feb 10, 2012 11:30 PM EST up reply actions
if you're gonna be the starting point you gotta know all the guys
and now that the 2nd unit guys are comfortable, thats half the battle
by total hermination on Feb 10, 2012 11:31 PM EST up reply actions
You are 100% right
But guess what? This is his THIRD NBA start. Against the Lakers. At MSG.
Give him a LITTLE time to learn
GO CUSE, BLUE, AND EAGLES!
Too much dribbling?
Keeping his dribble alive is a huge part of why he’s able to do what he does. He sees the open man incredibly well. The Lakers just did an excellent job tonight of getting into the passing lanes to make it difficult to hit the open man.
I may be watching the first...
Jared Jefferies post game interview I have ever seen….
I'm a Wizards fan, not a Knicks fan
but a belated congratulations on getting Jeremy Lin who is the best thing that happened to the NBA this season! He showed us how to play some real basketball last Wednesday which seems like a long time ago, and you guys made my day after tonight’s game! In fact I watched more ESPN than Comcast SportsNet Mid Atlantic (which plays Wizard games)!
Now why isn’t Lin in the Rising Stars challenge?
shaq and chuck gotta do something. but i know, the rules are the rules.
lin could still win Most Improved Player though.
a good PG is making Jeffries look like Karl Malone out there
Lin really should have been playing since we were 6-4…our record would be so much better now and Amar’e may have made the all star team
by total hermination on Feb 10, 2012 11:41 PM EST up reply actions
Honestly the only other thing I can think of to make this sweeter
would be if we miss out on JR Smith and Kmart, somehow sign Patrick Ewing Jr. and he becomes a piece in our championship run
ha

It's tough being a Knicks fan. Being a Giants and Yanks fan is great though.

After a frustrating jets season
Lin is making everything better!! Love how unknowns in NYC are breaking out and making a name for themselves. I see Lin as a steve nash type PG, and that benefits amare
Let's Make sure we play like the f***in NEW YORK JETS
and not some f***in slapd**k team!

I just had a thought
While we all shudder at the thought of a return to iso-ball, I could see Lin adding a lot of effectiveness to those types of plays as well. With his speed and uncanny spacing, he could potentially get a lot of good looks from Melo. Lin’s had to do almost all the work on his own thus far in getting his points, he could use some easy looks.
iso ball will come back
but it will be ok. It will occasionally slow down the pace of the game, allowing Melo to play his game for short stretches. Lin can control when/if it happens
This team can become awesome.
Iso ball
Is simply an end of the shot clock option. Why not at that point?
Then again, Lin was MONEY with the shot clock running down today.
GO CUSE, BLUE, AND EAGLES!
It's not a bad thing when used in moderation
It’s just awful when in several possession in a row it’s dribble dribble shoot
I think he'll be so happy to not be triple teamed only to look around and only have TD as an option to pass to
Do the Shumpty Shump, come on and do the Shumpty Shump

oh, who am I kidding, melo can be the shoot-forward

Dear lord
Most points by any player in the first three starts of his career SINCE THE NBA-ABA MERGER.
I was at the Knicks Lakers game in LA, it was painful and I really hate the Lakers
So hearing how Kobe doesn’t like D’Antoni and watching this game was exceptionally sweet
