Around SBN: Now They've Screwed Spurs, UEFA Willing To Review Rule

Things are looking up

Now that we have our own "Tebow" situation on our hands, i must say this is the most excited I've been watching Knicks games in a long time. A few days ago i said give him a few more games to see if its a fluke....this is no fluke. We shouldn't get carried away and expect Lin to score 25+ a night but absolutely around the 15+ range with close ish to 10 assists. Im more skeptical about his assist numbers because of Melo going one on one, but Coach said the best thing we could all hear "Melo is going to have to get reacquainted with the offense". This is great! D'antoni realizes that there is a problem with the way the O was being run (not just Melo) and we now have our PG to smooth things out. If Lin can continue to play the way he has it will really open things up, especially for STAT. This can be seen from how well he and Tyson have worked together. Just think of STAT (much more athletic then TC) running down the lane or getting feeds from Lin down low. I still have my doubts of how Melo will effect what we have been doing but its a good problem to have.

Tid Bits

Where in the world is DWTDD. I feel really bad for him and hope he can get it going

Novak City Bi............ nvm. He's been lights out and lets hope he can keep that up.

Jeffries has been playing great. Thats all.

I think we are a player or two from really taking the next step. Don't wory STAT, Melo or DH12 are not involved.

We need another scorer. JR Smith?

And we need a bruiser down low to help Chandler and STAT last all season. Jorts is deeply missed but another bruiser wouldn't hurt. Im wondering if you guys have heard anything of us going after a big but P&T knows all so enlighten me.

Long Live the Lin

I think JR may be a good option to have.

With Baron and Jorts coming back, and Lin’s emergence I’m starting to grow a deep passionate love for this team. I was ready to welcome blowing up the team a few weeks ago out of the frustration of constantly having a losing team, but I am re-born.

I’d like to take this time to apologize to my P&T brethren for losing faith there for a while. <3 God, its good to have hope back. :)

In Donnie we trust.

was right there with you, though the faith i think most of us lost...

was in the stars, who haven’t been a part of the re(LIN)surgance. my faith in the offense, MDA and the role players has definitely been sparked… and i withhold judgment until i see how the integration of melo (mostly) and stat looks.

and my love for this team, especially tyson, lin, landry, shump, and yes, JJ too (and already jorts)… is approaching and may have even arrived in starks/oakley territory.

All playing great

The defense last night was really impressive. Yea LA missed a TON of open shots, but NY made it tough on them, especially Kobe. Woodson (and Tyson) is doing a REALLY good job with the D this year. Lin is a great story! First the Giants now this!! NY going crazy the last week +. Novak actually doesn’t play BAD defense, its not great, but I don’t know who said he shouldn’t play cause he’s a defensive liabilty, he’s not horrible. Can’t wait to see this team at full strength w/ Melo and Amare!!

You just got Tysoned!!!!!!

I can't believe Tebow is even remotely associated with this, can't we just ignore him?

what Lin is doing is so completely the opposite of Tebow, Lin might as well be the devil himself

Also another tid bit, people need to start recognizing how much of what Lin is, is due to Pringles. Its his concepts of offense that have clicked to Lin. Lin was never like this, he bounced around from team to team for a reason he just was flat out not good, although there’s obviously talent there. Lin wasn’t exactly a raw piece of clay type dude with all this physical talent and no idea how to play. He was a dude that knew how to play but didn’t know how to use it. Pringles taught him how to use it.

all true...

and yes, enough tebow… period.

Not exactly true..
Lin was never like this

He played like this in HS…saw a few of his games/live nearby…took the Cali State Championship on his back.

Went to Harvard without a scholarship and took Harvard to heights that it had not seen before.

Taken undrafted by the Warriors and outplayed Wall head to head in summer league.

Showed great court vision, passing ,speed, defense, driving to the basket in his 1rst NBA season but was jerked out of the game for every rookie mistake so never saw more than a couple of minutes on the floor…playing 3rd string behind Curry and Acie Law for a 1rst year desperate to win coach.

Dropped by the the Warriors(so to clear cap space for a C they didnt get) before being given a chance to show his improvement….you are talking about him as if he is a 4 year vet that has shown what he is —>

he bounced around from team to team for a reason he just was flat out not good
basically he was a one year rookie walk on that was not given the oppportunity to show what he has ….“this second year” …..untill the desperate fluke of Knick injury….if the Knicks PG’s had been all healthy including Baron then Lin would have been cut in in the same way….the Warriors owner claims that he tried to get Lin back after Jordan aquisition didnt work out(not sure that I believe that though) and many claim that he was waiting for the Knicks to cut him to go after him again(probably more because Bay area fans were upset that he was cut(not sure that I believe that either)……Lin will continue to improve even as his stats level out but do not underestimate him….

the amount of players that were like "this" in HS and even college is infinite

so really no one cares about that. He outplayed Wall in a Summer league game, but again, there’s been lots of teams to do this.

And if he showed this with other teams, he doesn’t bounce around from team to team. I’m not underestimating him, just telling it like it is. He got a chance here, but other teams no doubt have had more then a look. He didn’t show anything there.

Tebow is a religious fanatic

Lin is simply a humble christian- a big difference. I don’t know how hundreds of scouts, assistant coaches, and general managers overlooked this kid for a almost 2 years, but I do know that someone on the Knicks deserves a hugh bonus for recommending him. D’Antoni seems surprised by the results, and admits that Lin might still be on the bench if Douglas had proved productive or if the Baron was available. However, you are right that Mike’s free flowing system has allowed this kid to flourish in ways that no one could have predicted.
Last week,I had serious doubts that the Knicks would make the playoffs. Today, the question is , how far will they advance.
