How to give 15 minutes of rest to JLin
I just realized something.
If you look at the Knicks Roster, it is pretty glaring that we don't really have a backup PG. When JLin rests, the whole offense falls apart and the other team catches up. Especially when Tyson Chandler gets into foul trouble (our back up center comes back in March!).
So everyone in the NBA WANTS a PG. They are in high demand cuz their play style means injuries, means that they require equals measure intelligence/athleticism, requires an unselfishness for points---Just short supply, high demand.
So why don't we do a triangle offense during the 3rd quarter? If we have Steve Kerr Novak on the right wing, put our bigs in the middle, we're going to get rebounds. If that doesn't work, you can have Carmelo, dish it out to the wings on both sides, JR smith not the right and Novakaine not the left. Or you can do delay tactics by pursuing nothing but 3's. You don't even need to put bigs in the middle.
I think that is the reason why JR smith was hired. Nothing but bibby/nvak/jr 3 point attempts int he 3rd quarter( easier to get back on defense if you don't need to set up on the paint.)
It's actually very smart. I think you still need a PG backup though. Jeremy Lin aint made of steel. I'd love to see Triangle Offense done with carmelo in the 3rd quarter--just to give jeremy lin a rest. It would shock the crap out of the opposing team.

For now..
1)Shump
2)TD (hopefully)
3)Baron when healthy. Which hopefully will occur some time before the next meteor strike.
Did you notice before the Kings game
he was practicing driving to the hole on Atkinson? I dug that
You just got Tysoned!!!!!!
You can't really "do" the triangle for a few minutes at a time
You basically have to dedicate your entire team to the concept.
Really, what’s going to happen is that Baron (eventually) and JR Smith are going to carry the team when Lin is on the bench with dribble-drive penetration, kick-outs, and let’s be honest, some chucking.
Think you're asking for too much when expecting players to switch between these systems every game
First thing to note is that very few coaches have even managed to implement triangle offense in the NBA. Despite all the rings Phil Jackson picked up, I think Kurt Rambis is the only coach to even get his team to run the triangle.

Best approach now is to simply pull Lin before 1st quarter & 3rd quarter ends & extend the long rest between quarters. Once Carmelo is back, I can see Lin able to get a lot more rest even if Baron isn’t playing.
Bibby’s scoring abilities are shot but he doesn’t turn the ball over much (or at least it doesn’t seem to be that way when I’m watching him). With Carmelo & JR Smith (if he’s playing well that night) you’ll have 2 guys who can create their own offense & score. Combine them with a PG that can funnel the ball to them & Knicks should be able to get Lin some extended rest on the bench.
hrm. i dint think about that.
man, i don’t know how we won against the other teams and LOST to the hornets.
