Good evening! Tonight, the Knicks welcome the Hornets to the Garden, where they'll look to win their eighth straight game. New York will be without Carmelo Anthony once more, and also without the recently signed J.R. Smith (and our beloved Renaldo Balkman. Farewell, Humpty.)
The Hornets are just 6-23, but two (33.333333333%) of those wins came in their last two games against the Jazz and Bucks, so they're working on a li'l streak of their own. Not to be taken lightly.
Thankfully, many more of us will be able to watch the game (legally) because of the long-awaited end to the pissing match between Time Warner Cable and MSG, so that's good.

To be honest, watching on feeds was generally not too bad for me but I really missed pre/post game shows and general convenience. Hockey on the other hand is nearly unwatchable on most feeds.
And ironically I just realized (duh) that the Sabres game is on MSG-B instead of the Knicks so I’ll be watching on a feed anyway.

i think it makes sense to establish roles. jeffries makes a bigger difference on the floor than walker, but walker is going to allow lin et al to see similar sets and looks as they would use when melo gets back.

just because somebody is open, doesn't mean you have the lane or angle to get them the ball.
That’s part of the reason why Lin has been turning the ball over so much. He’s trying to make these passes he doesn’t have the angles to make. NO has been very quick to double hard on his penetrations. He needs to kick it out, but he’s trying to force passes in the crowded lanes.

but I think the problem was more about the fact that he kept leaving his feet to make the defense react. If he just keeps his dribble for longer he makes the same effect but with more options. Him leaving his feet led to more than half of his turnovers
There was no crowding in the lane on that play.
Amare was literally right next to him. He could have just handed it to him.

Okay, I'm frequently accused of being a MASSIVE homer...
But I can totally understand that foul call. And even if he hadn’t fouled him, he did a great job of making it look worse than it was.

D’antoni’s offense is all about attacking so you’re gonna get that from time to time…and i thought most of his turnovers werent bad decisions they just came from attacking the defense where the defense stripped and he didnt get the calls
I've been telling people the same thing.
Lin needs to learn to cut down the turnovers, but we have an offense the needs him to be aggressive to be successful. With a system that needs Lin to consistently drive into the teeth of the defense, he’s gonna make turnovers. It comes with the system. He needs to know what type passes he can and can’t make though, and that’ll come with experience.

Summary: too many turnovers and too many missed free throws
I’m not even counting the missed 3’s. Make 5 more ft’s and 5 less turnovers and we win this game. You can’t win turning the ball over 21 times and making 65% of your free throws.

These losses happen, but from the very beginning you could see the Knicks had no life (no pep in their step as Clyde would say).
It’s always good against these bad teams to put them away early, and we came out playing as if we kind of expected them to just roll over and die. We played a complete polar opposite of how we played against the Kings.
I know it’s a marathon and these guys have to pace themselves, but I really wish they would’ve come out playing with energy from the very beginning; instead they came out to play about midway through the 2nd quarter.

As warriors I feel bad for y’all, not to make excuses but some of the calls feel like the West Con couple years ago Suns vs Spurs, not taking about the fouls Knicks didn’t get but more of the calls the Hornets get
