Carmelo Anthony will start for the East in the NBA All-Star Game.
I turned on my TV just in time to catch TNT announcing Carmelo Anthony as one of the starting forwards for the Eastern All-Stars later this month. Here is a picture of Melo wearing the jersey that he is going to wear in that game. As someone who doesn't usually watch the All-Star Game and would kind of prefer that my Knicks rest their legs over the break, I don't find this to be particularly thrilling news, but congratulations, Melo! Amar'e Stoudemire, by the way, finished third in the voting for forwards. He and Tyson Chandler are both possibilities for the East bench (though, despite the voting, Chandler probably has a much better chance of getting picked).
Anyway, this got me thinking about the other All-Star competitions and if any Knicks might be invited to participate...
Dunk Contest: Nope.
Three-point contest: Nope, unless they'll let Josh Harrellson win it with his left hand, which he totally would if you let him.
Rookie-Sophomore game: Gotta figure both Landry Fields and Iman Shumpert will participate in this one.
Skills Competition: Toney Do-- Nah, I can't even finish the joke. I can't do it.
Anyway, congrats!

Melo is an All-Star for one reason, and one reason only:
I voted for him.
