Look, we're all loving the heart of our team these days, and there's a large part of me that would love the opportunity to be the first team this year to shove a load of humble pie in the playoff mouths of the Heat... but better scenarios would be to play anyone other than the Heat in the first round. Chicago, with their ailing PG, Indiana with their youth, or Atlanta, because they're Atlanta (unless they get Horford back, who is scary).
A strong playoff showing would do wonders for us moving forward, especially for the young guys who could use the experience for next year... and 2nd round action would be additionally huge because you know who might come back... yes, Lin.
If we can buy some time, we could possibly sneak our way deep into the playoffs in a year that has been so absolutely crazy... and I just really dig the idea of a lot more Knicks basketball to watch... and I can't imagine (but really want to) the volume and explosiveness of a Garden, OUR Garden, going LINsane in the playoffs... Alley Oops left and right, and his patented "and 1's" driving to the lane and hitting his wacky off the glass floaters.
Miami will be desperate. Miami has individual shut down defenders. Miami can dominate. Yes, I'll love the challenge if we get those bastards in the first round, and yes, I'm just enjoying the ride and am cool with letting it all play out naturally... but if things play out a little differently, and we're able to climb the standings or finish 8th to avoid the Heat and maximize the likelihood of later round action... that'd be most appreciated.
ALL HAIL TYSON!
