Before rabid dogs of P&T kill me, understand two things:
-I found this trade on B&R by a guy named Ricky Rodriguez
-I like the trade but I like amare more. However, I am not opposed to trading amare (or melo???) as long as it benefits our team while crippling any EC teams.
Here is the proposed trade: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=chxfuln
I think this is a smart trade because of the following: (1) Amare's contract leaves us while Kevin Martin's off the books after the 2012-2013 season, allowing us to go after various FA (if we decide not to re-sign martin) or possibly sign CP3(!) or D12. (2) Martin can be the 6th man or start at either sg or sf while allowing Melo to be at the PF position. Melo thrived there at small sample we saw. (3) Metta is a good defender. (4) Forces chandler to develop a post game(!!!!!!!) Go see hakeem. (5) Not being a stat person but rather a game person, I think our defense and offense become a little better with this trade. (6) We get a draft pick(s).
Now for the other teams:
Rockets get Gasol while keeping Scola (Keep Scola to the PF and Gasol at the C). They get cap relief to re-sign Goran and also make a play to get Mayo or any other top SG out there in FA.
Lakers get rid of Gasol and get Amare (Amare will score and plays hard, he's not a b*tch) They also get lowry which is an upgrade over sessions (while still keeping sessions), and patrick peterson gives them more depth.
I am open to any suggestions, feedback, criticism, and any commets of your choice.
P.S. I do still believe in Amar'e and that he still has value. I want us to be Spurs. However, I want us to win by any means necessary. I would also include douglas just to get a draft pick or 2.
