SBNation LA has reported Gasol to the Bulls rumors are circulating. Now I don't believe the Lakers will get a steal like Deng for Gasol. Instead they'll probably get Boozer and some other "asset." Though I wonder why not the Knicks?
Amar'e isn't the answer in New York. I hate to sound like a typical Knicks fan here, but I'm just not feeling it. Gasol's feelings are hurt by the Lakers constantly attempting to trade him. To me a Gasol-Amar'e trade is a win win. The Lakers can rebuild their locker room, while the Knicks can gain a big who has an outside presence with the ability to rebound.
Amar'e no slouch. He has a rough year, but he just doesn't fit the style of play the Knicks are going to need if they're to win a championship. They need guys who don't want the ball as often because of Melo. Amar'e needs the ball in his hands, and I'm not saying that will be accomplished in LA with Kobe Bryant and Andrew Bynum. It's just Kobe knows how to control a team. He has the leadership to show Amar'e the way. Something Melo doesn't have.
The trade even works out on NBA trade machine!
Okay one last Pau Gasol involved trade, but this one doesn't have him in NY. You may like this one.
Knicks get : Metta World Peace, Kevin Martin
New York receives a defensive presence and a shooter. Filling two needs.
Lakers get : Amar'e Stoudemire, Kyle Lowry
LA finally have their point guard, and someone to replace Pau Gasol.
Rockets get : Pau Gasol, Toney Douglas
Houston wanted Pau ever since last off-season, but that was put on hold. They rid themselves of unhappy Lowry, and get a back up point in DWTDD.
I personally like the trades here, what say you?
