As you all know, Lin has changed his agent to Willam and Connolly started by Bartnett.
Here's the story of the lawyer.
Why did Lin wait so long to switch to Tanner?
Why did Lin switch to a LAW firm instead of a by commission agency?
Because the deal with NY is going south.
Lin wants max contract, but Dolan doesn't want to pay it. In fact Dolan is stalling for time. He's using the Novak/Lin Waived Rights trial to stall for time. He is not ready to commit now even though it's almost draft time, and the talks for LIn's services are rapidly approaching a close. AFter all, if you retain Lin, you don't need Lillard or Dion Waiters, you can go for say, my mother. That's a joke.
It's safe to say that Montgomery couldn't force Dolan to commit, and the Waived Rights trial might be scaring prospective customers.
Enter Willaim and Connoly--they made their name on contract negotiations.
My prediction, within the next 3 days we'll see either Lin with a back loaded contract playing for Toronto or Lin with a back loaded contract playing for New York.
Nostradamus OUT!
