Knicks fandom since "the good years" could totally be a metaphor for a bad marriage, so bad in fact it could qualify as a Lifetime MOW (movie of the week) check it out.
We start dating. everything's cool. secretly he's also got something on the side with another woman (isiah). The JJ signings (jerome james and jared jeffries) would be when I find out about the cheating, but because I'm an overly loyal shithead I stick around anyways. I should have known then. But I'm still here because there's some good times too (david lee game winners, nate rob snaps against the hawks, crawford going for 55)
eventually, I say let's get married hoping that will deter the cheating (firing isiah) and when the knicks bring in walsh, it's the honeymoon period after the marriage. Everything' good. He's getting his life together financially. we're seeing a marriage counselor (d'antoni) it feels like things are heading in the right direction. We have our first child together (amar'e) and we've never been happier.
Then one night he gets drunk and beats me (carmelo trade) but I persevere because i tell myself i love him, and we have this child together. stops going to counselling (walsh leaving, i realize i'm miing metaphors there, but a little artistic license please!)
Then he takes me on a great vacation for our anniversary (linsanity) and we love each other more than any couple ever loved each other.
Then he gets drunk and beats me again (d'antoni firing) and i constantly suspect that he's still with that hobag ex of his (isiah)
the lin fiasco we just experienced would be a beating so bad I go to the hospital and almost die.
and JR smith would be kinky rough sex that hurts but i kind of enjoy.
But we're all still here, bruises and all.
do you think it's tiffany amber-thiessen worthy?
what do you think? feel free to add any ideas.
