Preface: I have never ever watched Shurna play.
But here are what his pure stats show. Take what you may.
Here's the full analysis but I'll sum it up here for you.
John Shurna is a little bit above average.
Here are some of the stats that transfer 70-90% over to the NBA within the first 2 or 3 years.

He's a full 4 year prospect. It's promising that he shows year to year growth but the boy's old.
An AVG of 7.3-7.9 PRAWS makes him slightly above average.
Let's look at stats instead of Win Score.
He shoots 20% more than other SFs. He gets to the the free throw line but not overly so.
He shoots free throws 11% better than his peers. His rebound numbers are pretty bad.
He assists 75% more which is a nice number. And he's got some blocks.

He can score. From the 3pt line. He doesn't turn the ball over and he doesn't commit personal fouls. And he scores 23% more than his peers.
--------
If we filter out all the prospects who are better than average, and who shoot the 3-ball well, Shurna shoots up the rankings to Top 3 (accompanied by Kim English and Chace Stanback.)
-------
Kim English got drafted by the Pistons. As far as raw% go, Kim is number 1 3pt% shooter. As far as high usage and efficiency goes, Shurna is the top pick by far.
---------
In conclusion, this is not a bad pick for a bench guy. But he's not exactly the best choice out there. i'd have gone for slightly lower shooting ability but better small guard defense like Ken Horton. Shurna is basically Novak. He can't finish around the rim. He doesn't get to the free throw line.
If he does play the 3, he pushes carmelo to the 4. Not sure Shurna's good enough to guard 3's. If he goes to the 4, he fights both Novak and Amare for minutes. Unfortunately, his stats suggest he go to the 4. (BLK%)
----
I wouldn't put Shurna on my basketball fantasy league.
-----
At the very least, he isn't Austin Rivers. (I was this close to becoming a Hornets fan. What a waste of a 10th pick.)
