More curious than informed here...
Given the Knicks' age, rash of injuries over the past two months and diminishing defensive efficiency, are there any moves out there worth making? Obviously they wouldn't be gunning for another star player or anything like that, but with pieces like Kurt Thomas, Marcus Camby and Ronnie Brewer, they could make a trade, right?
Personally, I'd like to see another interior defender, but it's not as if shooting is really a forte right now, either. Beyond 'Melo and maybe J.R. Smith, there's not a whole lot of reliability on the floor, and it's foolish to think those two can just carry the scoring load. I'm not in favor of moving Amar'e (and I know we really can't with his cap number), but if we could make a deal to package him for a few better-than-average rotation guys (shedding the salaries of Camby and Sheed too, maybe?), would it be worth it?
Just thought this could generate some conversation around it, since I saw some very brief mention of a Shawn Marion deal in the Hawks recap thread.
