Tantalize and Fantasize - THE Premier FBB League...... In the ENTIRE UNIVERSE!!! – Week 4 recap

And then there were 2! Two undefeated, and two without win. Lossless and Winless, hand in hand with little regard, no early thanksgiving here folks. Another week saw some of the closest games yet, and some of the highest scoring. Some teams outlooks just went from good to tune in later to hope you have a spare knee, or ankle. While we commiserate in the Knicks struggle, we find solace in fantasy.

And so begins this week’s episode of There goes my season..

Can’t fake the Funk this time, HiRiser make LilPennyJr cry ankle.

This battle went into Sunday, with LilPennyJr’s Funk holding a slim lead. Qboro however came up strong and represented as the HighRisers took out the previously undefeated Funk 668.50 to 638.50 The Funk led this one from start to 4th quarter, paced by Dirk Nowitzki (138.25) and Nene Hilario (109), but got little support elsewhere as Andre Iguodala came up lame, and Deron Williams keeps trying to turn that ankle the wrong way. The HiRisers took advantage of the Sunday games with outstanding performances by Joe Johnson (110.75), and Goran Dragic (110.75) to secure their first win of the season. QBoro looks to build upon their momentum in a short week taking on Metta World Wonders, while the Funk looks to lick their wounds, deal with their injuries and take it out on Keyser Shump in interconference play.

Metta Wonders while showing no love for the Childs

N1okcosy_medium

Another barnburner came down to the Sunday matchups, as Metta World Wonders overcame the injury bug and squeaked by Chris’s love Childs 614 – 603.50 for their first win. After losing Marc Gasol and CJ Miles, and still without Kobe Bryant, the Team Metta was Wondering where they would get scoring from. Fortunately, waiver wire pickup Mike Dunleavy chipped in enough to help them stay afloat, and I’d like to think Amare Stoudemire was the deciding factor, with his 20.25pt game on Saturday. The love Childs were paced by Paul George (114.25) and Michael Carter-Williams (108.75), but could not get enough support from the bench to get them over the top. Metta World Wonders looks to hopefully see Kobe back, and they will need him as they take on Q-Boro HighRisers, while Chris’s love Childs looks to bounce back against Team Seth.

The Big one turns back the Pipe.

In another closely contested matchup, Pipe Dreamin" had dreams of pipedom, but it went up in smoke, as The Big Zeppole turned away the challenger 760.50 to 699.25. The Big one got a big series from Damian Lillard (111.25) and some balanced scoring throughout the lineup. Pipe rode the strong play of Kevin Durant (121.25) and Harrison Barnes (102 pts) but struggled to overcome the loss of Brook Lopez, who decided to pull a Deron Williams with the ankle, and has missed the last 6 games. Pipe Dreamin' looks to regroup this week as they take on Hammer and the Bell, while The Big Zeppole looks to knock off undefeated GAxamaphooone.

Extra Extra, read all about it. Gballars got Ethered.

Ophah1ny_medium

Another unbeaten got knocked out, and this time the Ethering was complete, as Gbaked Gballars got overrun by You-Got-Ethered 665.25 to 555.50 in a mild suprise. The Gballars couldn't overcome the losses of Jimmy Butler and Trevor Ariza, and despite recent weeks scoring didn't have a player over 100 pts this week. Ether, on the other hand, only put David Lee (101 pts) over 100, but also saw balanced scoring all up and down the lineup. The win might have been bittersweet, because of the loss of one Derrick Rose to another knee injury. We will have to see how they respond to that next week, as You-Got-Ethered tries to slow down the recovery of Fibula Recovery Team, while Gbaked and the merry band of Gballars aims to knock off one of the remaining undefeateds as they take on Gunsbound.

Hammering the Scimitar

Gcs9v12y_medium

In another strike to the undefeated, Hammer and the Bell decided to do a little hammering themselves, and took out Stingy's Scimitar (that sounds dirty) 789.75 to 699.50 in a shootout. Hammer of course had to be the only Knicks fan pleased with John Wall's performance, as he paced the squad with 154 pts, while DeMarcus Cousins added 148.50 as 5 players broke 100 pts. Stingy had Andrew Bogut get 117pts, but outside of some balanced scoring did not have anyone else step up. Oh, and a special thanks to Bogut for giving the Knicks a break and taking Mo Williams out of tonights game! Hammer and the Bell looks to stave off the Pipe as they take on Pipe Dreamin', while Stingy's bunch looks to regroup as the Scimitar takes on cellar dwellar Wwert 2013

Pablo is not nice to Seth

Raise up for Pablo decided to RAISE UP, as they posted the second highest point total of the week, and really took it to Team Seth 881 to 462 in this weeks beatdown. Pablo got a HUGE series from Chris Paul (192.50 pts), while Monte Ellis chipped in 148 pts to lead Pablo to the victory. Team Seth appeared to struggle from the start as no players broke 100pts, and they were lead by a modest week for LeBron James (95 pts). Things don't get easy for Raise up for Pablo, as they better keep it up as they take on Chico, while Seth hopes to rebound as they take on Chris's love Childs in a match up of 2 single win teams.

No Recovery for Wwert – the streak continues

Fibula Recovery Team continued down the path to full recovery as they climb back to .500 as they beat Wwert 2013 629.75 to 322.50. The Recovery team was paced by Carmelo Anthonys' 101.50 pts and got some needed scoring out of sideshow Bob, er, I mean Robin Lopez, who put up 95pts in the win. Wwert, what can I say about the squad, they just don't seem to be jelling just yet, and are searching for someone to step up. Hopefully it is this week, as they take on Stingy's Scimitar. Fibula Recovery looks to continue their recovering ways, as they hope to avoid the let down, and the Ethering, as they take on You-Got-Ethered.

Chico got GAx’ed

Wwtx4l4y_medium

Looking to remain undefeated against the upstart Chico, GAxamaphooone put on the full court press, trapped in the corners and let wire to wire as they took out their opponents 807 to 587. In winning the battle, GAx won 5 out of 7 days scoring, losing one day because no one was playing. Very impressive. Wesley Matthews led the squad with 123.25 pts while Spencer Hawes had 108.50 before going out with a knee injury. Chico got a monster series by LaMarcus Aldridge (141.25 pts) but suffered some due to the loss of Raymond Felton. Chico looks to rebound this week as they take on Raise up for Pablo, while GAxamaphooone takes their shiny 4-0 record out for a drive as they take on The Big Zeppole in a tough matchup.

Gunning down the Wookie

K6q8wv1y_medium

In another blowout, Gunsbound proves they are the top dog, putting up big points and taking their record to 4-0 as they turn back the Wookie of the Year 941.75 to 538.50. This time, it was the power forward tandem of Kevin Love and Blake Griffin combining for over 310 pts, with supporting scoring from the rest of the team to pull this one WAY out of reach. Wookie started out strong on Monday but lost the lead by Tuesday and never got close, despite a decent series from Dwight Howard (109.75 pts). They just did not have enough to outgun Gunsbound, who draws a tough matchup this week as they take on Gbaked Gballars, while Wookie looks to rebound as they take on winless 21 Shump Street.

.

.

Keyser Shump owns Shump Street

In what was billed as the Shumper Bowl, Keyser Shump proved there can only be one, hitting hard and quick and never looked back as they proved they are the Shumpiest Shump of them all as they beat down 21 Shump Street 528 to 367 in a low scoring affair. Neither squad had a breakout player, but instead were paced by balanced scoring. In Shump Streets defense, their scoring was balanced too, just lower points as they dropped to 20th place and 0-4. Keyser Shump did enough to win, and win they did, improving to 3-1 in the process. Next week should prove a little more difficult as they look to not step into the Funk, as they take on LilPennyJr's Funk, while 21 Shump Street looks to get off the schnide as they take on Wookie of the Year.
