Mike Woodson heads to his office after a long day. Last nights game was rough. The media was out in full force. He thinks he may have said something slightly less then positive about STAT's knees. That little guy kept asking questions. He lets out a long sigh and pours himself a glass of Cognac.
He takes out a notepad and very nice pen. He had notes on how to play JR as a point guard tomorrow night. Not notes he had thought of earlier, notes from when Mr. D. called him into his arcade to have a chat. He can have any game, but he chooses fruit ninja. A big arcade version. Its all he plays...
Woody feels bad for JR. He knows JR does not want to be Mr D's "Best Friend", and they all told him that was a risky thing to put in his contract... but since then its been a hard run for Smith. It was right after that elbow in Boston, when Mr. D decided that JR was in need of a some Bestest Friendest Time.
There is a copy of The Post on his desk. He knows he is getting killed for the end of last nights game... He doesnt know why the man in the suit leaned in and said "Do not call a time out. You know what will happen if you call a timeout."
Woodson had no idea what would happen if he called a timeout.
He only knows that the man in the suit has an earpiece and speaks for Mr. D. When Woodson had his after game brief with Mr. D, he tried to bring it up... But Mr. D just responded that "by not calling the timeout, good things didn't not happen to bad people." WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
Tomorrow night is gonna be tough. A text from S.Mills comes in...
"Chris Smith? ROTFLMFAO"
