Now before everyone goes "HIS NICKNAME IS MELO" I'll clarify and say that Melo is really just an abbreviation and ultimately a hollow nickname equivalent to CP3, KG, or D-Wade. I'm talking about a nickname that exemplifies just how awesome Carmelo is as a player. "The Big Ticket" "The Truth" "The Big Fundamental" "Black Mamba" "The Matrix" "King James" all these nicknames add to their players legacy, and the way they will be remembered after they retire. IT just seems weird that Carmelo (a player known specifically for one aspect of his game, scoring) doesn't have any nicknames. I figured there wasn't any better place to start a grass roots movement for a Carmelo nickname so I would like to hear what you guys think about this. My idea: The Arsenal. Anthony is one of the most prolific and gifted scorers in NBA history. He got literally an arsenal of offensive moves. Post up. Midrange. 3pt. Spot up. Iso. PnR. Melo does it all. he can play the 3 or the 4. He can bully you or he can finesse you. I got this idea from an interview kobe did with ESPN early in the season where he talked about guarding Melo. Carmelo The Arsenal Anthony, has a bit of a pro wrestling sound to it. There are a lot of different directions you can go with this (his clutchness, his ability to cook) so I would enjoy what names you think of. anyway, go KNICKS!
