I am glad that they got the win last night and I know they have had their struggles in Cleveland in recent years, but they are going to have significant issues if they are without Carmelo Anthony for any length of time.
I agree with other posts I have seen on this blog, I do not want to see either James White or Chris Copeland in these games, if for no other reason that they both do not fit the hybrid role they are expected to play in this system. I understand the fans that like Copeland because they think he spaces the floor for them offensively, but I would rather have Amare or some other bug man off the bench in there to space the floor.
I also hope that Woodson changes up some of the rotations prior to the upcoming games against the Pistons and then the Thunder. If Anthony is out, then he is going to have to make some changes to the rotations anyway. I think you play J.R. Smith an extended amount with either Felton or Kidd in the backcourt with him, and I would limit Prigioni's minutes. Prigioni cannot get to the rim, so I do not think he gives you that much as far as being able to give the offense another dimension.
It remains to be seen what the Knicks will get out of Kenyon Martin but I think they need to get something out of him, in the absence of Wallace. They need either Camby or Martin to come in and provide a contribution. The addition of Martin sure makes the Knicks look like the Denver Nuggets East, some days I think they should just trade for Corey Brewer and make that transformation complete.
I think this next stretch of games will be interesting for us as fans to see how this team responds to adversity in a prelude to the postseason run that we all hope that they make.
