Some days I think they put a tiny amount of thought into which segments and moments get preserved but other times it seems like it's a drunken, ritalin-addled Avid console from 1999 set to auto-cut. What the fuck, MSG?
For instance, take this last game against the Nuggets. I love gar-bage time but we saw the entire final 5 or so minutes and missed the start of the run that put away the Nugs. Was that planned? I think it jumped from a 9 point lead to a 16 point lead in one of the edits. I can't turn the tv back on to check the exact cuts because I just can't deal with telling my daughter that the tv is not up-for-grabs right now after the Knicks viewing has ended and the screen is turned off--- lazy parenting leads to lazy posting! But I've been thinking about this for months and this game seemed like a good example. I loved watching everything the KI60 crew showed us, but I did feel like there important stuff that got left out.
Do they think about it? One cut opened with Mike and Wally talking about the Pablo-Timmy disagreement. Which was nice of them to keep us informed about. But they didn't show when it happened. Interesting. Perhaps the gameplay during the discussion was more important?
I'd love to think that they have someone doing this that cares and crafts the replays. I would take great comfort from that. But deep down, I I think it's some arbitrary bullshit. What do you think?
