Warning: My Random thoughts about the Knicks at 3am. May or may not be organized
The 2013/2014 New York Knicks are officially ELIMINATED playoff contention.
The first live Knicks game I ever watched was the 2012 2013 home opener against the Heat. In that game the Knicks moved the ball. They ran excellent screen and roll and they kicked the ball out to open shooters which led to 19 3 pointers.
THEY PLAYED TEAM BALL
This game got got me hooked(trapped). I continued to watch every single game that season as we eventually won 54 games and broke the NBA record for most 3 pointers made in a season with 891 threes. Eventually we did lose to the Indiana - Look i'm going straight up - Pacers but that season bought HOPE that we could be a consistent and competitive NBA team.
I looked at the score today.... Hawks 98. Heat 85..... The Knicks are were out but It was almost an inevitable fate..... I remember looking at the score for game 6 against the Pacers and almost wanting to cry. This elimination game didn't hurt as much but the worst part is that we couldn't even play in it
Basketball is a TEAM game so the blame doesn't rest on any one player (Ok maybe Beno) or coaches.
Carmelo Anthony has a big decision to make this offseason. He can stay with the Knicks and wait maybe a year or two before we can sign a big name free agent... or he could sign with [Insert big market team name here]. If Melo stays or go's I think it's almost a win win for the Knicks. If he stays good. We have one of the top scorers in the NBA (maybe with a smaller contract then expected) but if he leaves we won't have to take on a big contract and.... I'm all in for TANKING FOR JAHLIL OKAFOR.
Hopefully Phil can work his Zen on the team this offseason. Hopefully he can make some good trades or find some cheap talent.
We all know Phil don't want no scrubs. A scrub is a player that can't get any minutes from Phil
Well anyways those are my random thoughts on the Knicks... It's 4 am now so i'm gonna go to sleep now..... Thanks for reading
