So... What went wrong?

Hi guys, Wiz fan here. I was just perusing the team records in the East when I came upon the Knicks' record. 37-45? You guys were 54-28 last year! I don't mean to rile up any emotions (I apologize if I have), but I'm sincerely confounded as to how this decline happened. So I went to basketball reference, and I see that Carmelo had one of the best seasons of his career! (his best imo) And so I thought, "Oh, maybe it's injuries", but no one besides Tyson missed a significant amount of games (missed 27 games). That doesn't seem enough to account for the win drop; Tyson missed 16 games last year, and Carmelo missed 15, and yet the Knicks had 17 more wins. Were there other significant injury problems that I missed?

Was it primarily Mike Woodson's fault? If it was, then was last year's record achieved despite his presence as head coach? If it wasn't, was he merely a smaller factor amidst a myriad of other, smaller ones? Or was he a problem at all?

Wait, was Andrea Bargnani like, that bad? I guess I wouldn't be surprised...

Anyway, I hope I didn't insult anyone, I'm just genuinely curious as to how this happened. Good luck to you guys next season!
