And now for a different kind of discussion. Every year, the SB Nation NBA team blog friends do a mock draft. Every other year, I don't get to participate because the Knicks don't have a pick. This year, I put it out there that I wanted the Knicks to have a pick and would be interested in hearing trade offers. That's how it's done, y'all. Don't be proactive. Just put the bait out there and let the trade partners come to you.
Anyway, the Thunder have come calling. Here was the official inquiry from OKC (WTLC) HQ:
We're interested in Iman Shumpert. We have picks 21 and 29 and some youth. Any interest on your end?
I immediately came back with OKAY GIVE US REGGIE JACKSON STRAIGHT UP DONE DONE DEAL DONE DEAL DONE DEAL DON'T THINK ABOUT IT JUST SHAKE HANDS, but that didn't work out.
So do you guys want to help me make a deal? Or do we just want to keep Iman Shumpert? We can turn this into a poll eventually (with keeping Shump as an option), but to begin with: Put forth some reasonable trade ideas that work in the Trade Machine* and we can determine which we like best with recs.
*Note that future draft picks count for $0 in a trade, so either an actual person has to come back to match Shump's salary ... or this trade would have to be postponed and become too complicated to be worth doing as fiction.
