Would you trade Jeremy Lin for John Wall?
Hello everyone, I am a BulletsForever member and I'm sure you know the state of my team and all that non-sense. I've been open to the idea of moving John Wall for a while, but understandably most there reject the notion and accuse me of trolling. I'm very interested to hear Knicks' fans take on this trade proposal, I don't want to add too much of my biased input so I'll leave it up to everyone here to discuss.
Some live game notes from MSG South
Just wanted to share a couple notes that I saw live from MSG South (local DC beat writer Micheal Lee coined the term)
What next? So exciting... and so scary...
Linsanity, Lincredible, Lintangibles and my personal favorit AdrenaLin.
We're all thoroughly enjoying (understatement) this new refreshing, and winning brand of TEAM basketball.
And I also think we're all a little scared of and curious about how long this will last, and how our stars will fit in to our new squad.
Will Stat flourish and learn to co-exist with Tyson and with our new PnR PG? Or will he continue to bump into Tyson in the lane and clog things up?
Will Lin have the chops to run the show and play his and MDA's way? Or will he feel intimidated by Melo's stardom and start dumping the ball into Melo's non-running/post up loving hands at the 3 point line.
Is Melo watching our games while he's nursing his groinals and thinking about how he can fit in to this offense? Or is he just assuming it'll work and his role will stay the same?
How will Lin respond when Kobe decides to try to shut our new hero down?
Will Landry and Tyson and Shump and Novak and Jefferies stand up to our stars if things regress and demand that they evolve and get on board?
There are so many questions. There have been soooooo many smiles and true joy watching free-flowing, moving, cutting, dunking, passing, hustling basketball.
So for now, I'll join the P&T masses in appreciating the HECK outta these last few games because they've been THAT spectacular and more... but whilst I rejoice and embrace... I can't help but hear that faint little voice of dread that's been imbedded in me over the years of being a Knick fan.
What are your big questions/fears?

Why Clyde Frazier is Banned in China
Since the day I moved to China five years ago, I’ve made it known to any Chinese NBA fan that my basketball loyalties lie with the New York Knicks. That fact has often been a conversation ender, since the average Chinese fan doesn’t know or care much about the Knicks.
That has all changed since the Jeremy Lin Game, part 1 (Hopefully the first of many). Both Weibo (the Chinese twitter) and Renren (the Chinese facebook) have caught Lin Fever, and Chinese friends have been sending me all kinds of Lin Highlight videos, including this seven-minute opus:
Why do I enjoy it so much? Well, aside from joy of watching Lin abuse Deron Williams, and the shock of witnessing an actual Knicks’ victory, the highlight for was hearing the melodious voice of Clyde Frazier: Knicks’ legend and the man who invented poetry and Cadillacs, respectively; a man so cool, that, were someone to make a movie about the 70’s Knicks, Clyde Himself would play the role of Billy Dee Williams playing the role of Clyde Frazier.
True to form, Clyde didn’t disappoint. His performance on the mic inspired one writer to compile a list of top ten lines of the Jeremy Lin game.
Unfortunately, this could be the last time I hear Clyde for a while. Living in China, I am ineligible for any NBA package that would include local Knicks’ broadcasts. The only time I can watch the Knicks is when Chinese Central Television feels generous enough to broadcast a Chinese-language feed – needless to say, Clyde won’t be calling those games.
So why aren’t local Knicks’ broadcasts permitted in China? Why won’t they set Clyde free? One might quibble over the supposed "language barrier," since Clyde doesn’t speak Chinese – but we all know that the man needs no translation. Besides, when he uses a word like "sagacity," how many American sports fans can possibly match his expansive vocabulary?
There is a very real reason Clyde is banned in China, and it primarily has to do with China’s infamous "One Child Only" policy. It is a well-documented biological fact that any woman sitting near the TV during a Knicks broadcast stands a 1-in-3 chance of being impregnated by Clyde’s voice. Now just try to imagine some poor Chinese shlub waking up one morning and turning on the Chinese sports channel. Suddenly – BOOM – his wife is now carrying Clyde’s baby. Now multiply that scenario by a factor of 100 million and you can understand the government’s need to ban Knicks broadcasts.
Just check out this chart comparing the populations of two countries: one country that has banned Clyde and that hasn’t:
Does this mean Clyde’s voice is getting all these Indian women pregnant? Clearly, it does. For a developing country, the potency of Clyde’s voice can lead to a humanitarian disaster, so I understand the policy of the Chinese government. I just hope Jeremy Lin can continue swishing and dishing, so the Chinese Interwebs can send me more clips of Clyde’s play-by-play.

Why The Knicks Shouldn't Sign J.R. Smith
I must admit that I have not seen J.R. Smith play very much. I've heard things about his skills and character, and based on the opinions of several P&T posters, I'm willing to trust that the guy's a very good basketball player that could help us win games, and that his character issues wouldn't be a big problem here.
Any addition to a team is a risk/reward scenario. Even a good player can cause chemistry problems, and not always because they're a bad or evil person.
As a hopeful person, I'm wary but willing to trust that Smith wouldn't create any problems here. But I still think the Knicks shouldn't sign him.
Knicks Reels Weekly Issue #6 - Better Lin Than Never!
So I'm a few days late posting this one, but I bet you can all guess what / who this issue is gonna be about. I know there have been a number of Jeremy-centric FanPosts over the last few days, and I hope I'm not repeating anything from them, but...as usual, I have scoured the web for the best Knicks clips I can find and compiled them here. Without any further delay, let's pick and roll the footage, Lin-Style!
steve novak is the key coming off the bench;;
Knicks were short handed against the jazz but still came up with win. With melo hurt and amare out, i think the coach had no choice but to put Novak in the game. Steve Novak played 17: 16 and recorded 19 points. He was LIGHTS OUT. Jeremy Lin dashing the ball in Novak’s hands giving him the open shot. All Novak’s points coming from the first half has not played in the second half. What I don’t understand is how mike d wont put him back in. he shot 7 for 10. Most of his shots were from behind the ark. He’s a good weapon coming off the bench some one who can score. I hope he stay with us
Jeremy Lin's Future: Backup or PG of the Future
Well, those two games have just been dynamite haven't they? I've watched mouth agape. It's not just what Jeremy Lin is doing, but how he's doing it. The way he moves, it's so easy to flashback to so many great point guards. I swear I've seen Nash out there once or twice these past two games.
Which brings me to the important question we all don't want to ask ourselves: What is Lin's future?
I think he's at the very least proven he belongs in an NBA rotation. But I don't think anyone thinks he'll continue to replicate the performances he's had thus far.
How far will he fall back to earth? Certainly, most of the things he's doing seem like things he can do every single night, but I think we don't really know who he is as a player yet. We haven't seen enough of him. It's only two games.
I think everyone views him as a quality backup, but can he develop into someone who plays like he has all the time? Will he be our backup or is he our PG of the future?
Feelin' Lucky
When the Knicks traded away Felton, Gallo, and Chandler last year, I shed a tear.
Now, I am shedding tears of joy. Our front office is on quite a run. I thought the Melo trade was kind of a blemish on that, but now even that is looking good.
BURN OUT
First a shout out to the NY Giants for bringing the Lombardi trophy home !!! Here's hoping I can sneak out to the parade for awhile today...
Now, while I'm glad and proud for Lin, who may of us on P&T believed should have been receiving playing time for months now, (yes MONTHS), he's also played 35 and 44 mins respectively in the last two games (averaging 40). That coupled with the fact dantoni is gonna "ride him like Secretariat" (funny comment btw) kinda concerns me that he may burn this kid out. He looked noticeably tired in the 2nd half, but while the kid stuck it out, it can't be ignored. Here's hoping Baron comes "back" soon or that TD turns it around and can give quality PG mins of the bench. The past two competent PG's that the Knicks had had noticable declines in performace during their years running the show, and they both played huge minutes at PG. Just to break down the minutes played vs. performance, I used the All Star break as a comparison for Duhan. Since Felton wasn't here that long I used the stretch we lost 6 games (8 of 11) for comparison purposes. Just to provide an example (numbers rounded):
Duhan: avg 36 mins for the 2008 - 2009 year
12.5 points and 8 assists in 51 games b4 All Star break; 8.5 points and 5.8 assits in 28 games after All Star break. He avg 39 mins a game b4 AS break; 33 mins per game after AS break.
Felton: avg 38 mins in 54 games 2010 - 2011
18 points and 9 assists in 38 games; 14 points and 8.5 assists in 16 games.
He avg 41 mins a game b4 AS break, 35 mins a game after AS break
Both players had a dip in production, largely due to the minutes logged which seemed to wear on them as the season went on, and at times looked sluggish on the floor. Felton also had an injury to attribute to his modest decline in play. I know dantoni used to have Wolverine running the show in Pho who could probably play 100 mins a night if he wanted, but he is not the norm!! Hopefully this will not be a major concern with Lin because we do currently have Shumpert and Bibby who could perhaps spell Lin for minutes at a time, but it doesn't look like dantoni is leaning that way as Bibby is buried on the bench and he would prefer to play Shumpert with Lin. I'm loving that Lin is playing so well, and finally getting his due since its been stated by players and coaches that he looked great in practice and in try-outs, but it's only been two games and ANYTHING can happen. Lin has gone from 0 mins a game to 40, this is can be concerning, but you gotta be excited about his play and energy he has brought to the team thus far..
