Jefferson, the gem in the Garnett trade, showed he was on the verge of stardom last year and is now the cornerstone of the franchise after leading the Timberwolves in scoring (21.0 ppg) and rebounding (11.1 rpg). After Minnesota started last season by losing 34 of their first 39 games, they went 17-26 the rest of the way. Jefferson was the catalyst, leading the team in scoring 26 times and rebounding 33 times in those 43 encounters. He was the also the only player in the NBA to average at least 21 points and 11 boards per game last season.
