Game Thread: Knicks at Bulls- 4-10-07

Booyakasha. The Knicks follow their loss at home by heading to Chi-town this evening to face the Bulls. The Knicks won by double digits the last time they played Chicago these teams met, and I sure hope they can play some spoiler tonight. Even with the playoffs virtually out of reach, this game has some meaning since the Bulls have our pick this year.

Also, Mike Sweetney is facing his former team. I'm pretty sure that's the only former team subplot tonight. Lemme think...yeah. That's definitely it.

Anyway, the kids at Blog-a-Bull are talking many shits about our Knicks, so be sure to post some comments making fun of Andre Barrett's inability to toilet train or something of that nature. They may rip our lack of success and troublesome squad, but we can always fire back by mocking their completely fictional shortcomings! Hi-ohhh!

This is a game thread, so post any comments about the game, hair nets, fish nets, dragnets, and internets as the night goes on. I'll be around to talk about the game and I'll put up some game ntoes later. Go Knicks. Peace.

We don't care about the Knicks
We know you have the Isiah Thomas disease and the Knicks will be plagued with another 10 years of bad decisions. We just want our lottery draft pick and then we will sit back and watch Curry eat himself out of the league.

by boerwinkle on Apr 10, 2007 7:08 PM EDT reply actions

bad decisions
like trading tyson chandler for pj brown/jr smith and then flipping jr smith to denver for howard eisley? or rodney carney for sefolosha?

yes isiah has made some bad moves (see jerome james, jalen rose, steve francis, etc.) but dont act like paxson is GM of the year.

There is no comparison between
Thomas and Paxson as far as GM's. Tyson was a salary cap move which Knicks fans should understand since last year Thomas won the largest payroll worst record championship. I think the book is still open on the rodney carney for sefolosha trade.

by boerwinkle on Apr 10, 2007 9:44 PM EDT up reply actions

wtf
a salary cap move? they traded chandler and signed an aging ben wallace to a BIGGER deal for 4 fucking years and chandler is already better. GENIUS!

by riise on Apr 10, 2007 9:46 PM EDT up reply actions

They signed Wallace and then traded Chandler.
Chandler had his moments with the Bulls but he always was being pushed around in the middle and making stupid fouls which kept him out of games when he was really needed, Wallace does not have those problems. Now how can you even compare the Paxson versus Thomas just look at the different direction each team has taken since each has become General Manaagers the Bull's are headed to the playoffs again and the Knicks are heading to the lottery for the second year in a row without their pick.

by boerwinkle on Apr 10, 2007 10:03 PM EDT up reply actions

well
thomas took over a heinously overpaid and talentless roster and is moving them in the right direction.

paxson took a roster with some young talent and no big salaries, made some great picks in 04 and 05 and now they're pretty good.

and you can say whatever you want. the wallace signing/chandler trade was a very dumb move.

by riise on Apr 10, 2007 10:06 PM EDT up reply actions

er
say what you want about the price we paid for him, but there's no doubt that curry is blossoming on the knicks and saying otherwise makes you sound ignorant.

just wondering
what do you think about amaker going to harvard (if you care)?
Ewing with the step...YES! and the foul!

by Anthony Masons Haircut on Apr 10, 2007 8:37 PM EDT up reply actions

he's a good coach
he'll do a good job there. his problem was that he didn't develop his recruits. c. sims, coleman, abram, petway, none of em really panned out.

tho, i guess now that i think about it, his x's and o's aren't too strong. our offense was unbelievably weak and boring. and at harvard he won't have creative athletes, so it's possible he'll find his squads overmatched by penn and princeton.

and when you think about it, he had his success at seton hall cause of his high level of talent (dalembert, griffin, etc.) that won't be there are hah-vahd.

so nm, he might suck

by riise on Apr 10, 2007 8:45 PM EDT up reply actions

yeah
at least maybe he can use some of his old seton hall recruiting ties to get some east coast talent.

everything's going halfway down, too.

except for mardy's three just now. that went 0% down. i think it hit the bottom of the rim, but then spun over the top and out.

Now Nate's hurt..
Why don't we just break Curry's finger now so his inevitable injury isn't something really bad?

45-27 at the half
Wow.

17 turnovers at the half.

On pace to score 54 points.

Unless this game is an exception to the rule, it's gonna be a close one by about 10:09. Book it.

Fuck the Season
I'm just watching at this point. Well, I should say I would be watching but the Knicks are down 18. In principle, I am watching.

I'm glad we got rid of Curry
Yes he can score but I can see that he still can't rebound or play defense. Thank the lord that Paxon was able to trade him to Thomas so we can have the gift that keeps on giving. I'm still betting Curry eats himself out of the NBA.

by boerwinkle on Apr 10, 2007 9:48 PM EDT reply actions

Thank you for that.
I had never heard any of that before until now. And was that a fat joke? Ha! That's novel.

OK. Let's be civil.
Meanwhile, the Knicks might set some records tonight.

I was wrong about the game being close at 10:09. This is a blowout.

I'm turning the game off
Rather than discuss this game, I have a few open ended ice-breakers that should prove to be less depressing.
Upon your utterly unavoidable death, how long will it take the maggots to devour your earthbound soulless corpse? Discuss.

Word.
I'm done here.

The maggots have already started eating me.
