I think Steph's happy.

I've got another video for you today. Here's Stephon Marbury loudly proclaiming his delight with the Zach Randolph acquisition. He doesn't exactly provide thoughtful analysis of the deal, but you can certainly gather that he's ecstatic. That's a very good thing. I'd love to hear Eddy Curry expressing the same sentiments.

Also note Marbury's willingness to claim that this puts the Knicks BEYOND "over the edge", but that he won't quite guarantee a playoff run. Whatever. I'm just happy that he's happy.

I wish I had an army of guys to flank me and nod and say "yes sir" every time I said anything. I also wish I could get away with using the word "youthier".

Hilarious...
But I DO think that we could pull this team off somehow...it'll just take some creativity.

Regardless, I think it'd be hilarious if tomorrow we saw the headlines of Randolph being traded...

Oh and has...
...anyone find anything on what Randolph thinks about coming to NYC?  Or are they waiting for the press meeting on monday?

So much has changed...
Does anyone remember the days when Steph just sat on the bench with a fucking towel over his head? I'm pumped.
I can feel it. Yessir.

2 sides
Stephon during his tv shows: calm cool collected,a true suave swagger.

Stephon in Brooklyn: Starbury at his finest looking as if they found some random dude playing ball in coney island, and he stole the mic from Al Trautwig and went off.

November is just waaaaaaaaaaaay 2 far away

what is steph really saying...
"a younger, youthier player inside zach randolph."

did zach eat someone?

furthermore, does this mean that zach has stolen the spotlight as the punchline of all fat jokes on the knicks from JJ? or will they share it? hmmm...

yeah
thats what im talkin abuot players gettin hyped goin into the season so we dont start 1-7 at home like we did this year. can u imagine steph this time last year? blah.

also did anyone read this shit daily news article by this mitch lawrence cat?

He says the knicks messed up with randolph and contrasts isiahs approach this year with "the tried and true" strategy of the spurs which "produced 4 titles in 9 years." umm is this the tried and true strategy of standing around while the best poewr forward ever falls into your lap in a draft u have no business participating in?

he says other stupid things too...arg why do i even read the daily news ever. just had to throw that out there because it made me mad as sh*t.

Mitch Lawrence sucks!!
He is by far the worst NBA columnist in these parts, he has no clue. The Post, Newsday, the Times and the Star Ledger's columnists pump out much better NBA columns then he does. He gets his scoops from ESPN.com. Isiah must have snubbed him in the Garden hallway because this dude hates the Knicks (Remember he broke the story that the Knicks hired Mike Fratello and looked like an ass when we hired Lenny Wilkens).

Everybody forgets how crappy the Knicks were when Isiah got here. We had one of the oldest teams in the league with no future, we were capped out and no one wanted any of these guys (Harrington, Eisley, Shandon Anderson, Weatherspoon) and our drafts were always horrible. Isiah drafted Ariza, Frye, Lee, Balkman, Robinson and got us some athletes. Now we only have 2 players over 30, Rose and James, and they don't play. Isiah basicaly rebuilt the team the expensive way, there's no other way to do it here in NY. Lebron, Duncan and Kobe were not going to be free agents so there was no need to create cap space for them. Any other free agents would have been a waste of time. All he has to do is get these guys to play defense and we can watch these young guys grow.

one other thought
Paraphrasing from that "article" "instead of going shopping for great additions like KG or Kobe Bryant..."
With what? Zeke had NO trade chips prior to the Francis ship-off. Not for a team desperate for some return on their loss, like the Lakers or 'Sota. Portland just had an addition and influx of talent and that in raw masses. Neither of the above had. So in order to make any move at players of that level, Thomas had to make a "lesser" move to acquire some bargaining potential, other teams would even listen to, without butchering everything collectively regarded as the future of the Knicks team (Lee, Curry, Balkman).
